"We booked the room via Expedia. When we arrived the parking lot WREAKED of smoke. Couldn't get up to the doors without choking from smoke. The outside walls has plaster missing up under the air conditioning units. We knew we couldn't breathe through the night and everything looked sketchy. So we drove away as we knew they couldn't refund us as we paid through Expedia. Hope there is a way to get refunded from Expedia."

"We certainly enjoyed our get-a-way at Captain Bill's! The approach to the cabin, a little tricky, gravel drive on an incline and parking with limited space to park and turn around especially having two vehicles. There are other rentals/homes in the area that are in very close proximity, which I wasn't expecting. We didn't get to enjoy the pool area across the road from our stay but looked very inviting. The cabin was well furnished and conducive to our liking. The restroom came with four walls and a door for privacy, but the ceiling was open to where you could see (and hear) over the wall into the rest of the living space. Some noises you don't want to hear coming from the bathroom :). Some bulbs (4) in the track lighting were not burning. The shower could use some floor grips, a little slippery. We always attempt to leave things better than we find them and so we did our own "sprucing up" with just what would be considered routine maintenance. Overall, a nice stay! Thank you!"

"Very remote cabin, no other campers the night we stayed-very remote. No water near by-pack in water, extra water. The property was beautiful and large. The listing makes it sound way more informal than the owner intends. Make sure to ask ahead to view the livestock. I wasn’t sure how to access the breakfast thats listed. Couldn’t find the water front view that is listed. The process for getting firewood and water could be better especially since you can’t take firewood in. More signage would be helpful. If you’re looking for middle of no where camping this is it! I would camp here again but I’d ask for clearer instructions/rules for finding trails, White River access, obtaining water and firewood."
