"This was my 2nd time staying at Hotel Calabona, it’s an ideal hotel in Alghero! The hotel is waterfront with a small private cove, has a large pool overlooking the sea! It’s a 15 minute walk to the town center or they have a free shuttle. I suggest booking a room with a water view, it’s worth it. The staff is amazing, friendly and extremely accommodating!
I highly suggest renting a car for a day trip to Castlesardo, La Pelosa Beach (ranked a top beach in Europe), you need to make a reservation), and some of the local beaches. Maria Pia was my favorite (15-20 minute drive), you can find street parking at the back of the hotel near the promenade.
My only suggestion to the hotel, i. the summer, keep the pool open a little later.
Thank you Hotel Calabona! I’ll be back!"
"Very good place where we felt very well. Family house with good vibes. A wonderfull garden and pool.
The village is quiet and nevertheless rather close to Bosa.
We recommend with nos reserve."
"We loved this little hotel. Our suite was marvelous, the beds comfy, the French doors on to the tiny balcony on to the river absolutely beautiful, the kitchenette well enough equipped to cook a meal, and the breakfasts were extremely delicious. The staff was welcoming and Bosa is a marvelous town to stay in, very sweet to wander around and a number of good restaurants, and a good base for exploring."
"Location is excellent and we had a great sea view room which was very spacious.
Room cleaned daily and was cleaned very well with clean towels given each day. Very nice housekeeper.
Staff, especially on reception were very nice and super helpful.
Pool is lovely, however it holds maximum of about 10 sunbeds which is unfortunate if a small group of you wnat to lay around the pool as unlikely to get a sunbed.
Biggest and strangest thing is that a 4* hotel does not have a private shower cubicle for those with a late flight. It has a luggage room but you’re expected to use the pool to freshen up as no shower other than the pool side one. Although manageable it’s surprising as a late checkout is charged at a nightly rate which works out a costly shower if that’s all you need on your last day.
Food was amazing. Pizza is great and staff again seemed pleasant.
I would stay here again as it’s a nice hotel and I’d make sure I booked an extra night stay if I had a late flight again but defo would return here."
"The property is located at the top of a small cove/bay. It is easy enough to walk down to the sea front and there are a couple of bars and places to eat.
The beach is a mix of stones and sand, but a shallow incline into the sea, which offers some great snorkelling opportunities. Plenty of fish, who don't seem that bothered by humans so you can swim along with them.
The hotel offers a great breakfast and the restaurant is perfect for an evening meal if you have had a pool day and don't fancy going down to the beach outlets for dinner.
The pool area is well stocked with beds and shade and there is a pool side bar if you get thirsty.
The staff really couldn't do enough for us and we had a great time here."
"The staff, Claudia and Denise were simply amazing.
They even looked up where I could go and watch the Uefa Chzmions League Final because they simply heard me talking to other guest about it.
I travel extensive with work snd see s lot of hitels and staff around the world.......these two are a step above the rest!
Thank you Claudia and Denise!
