6/10 Okay

The property was not very well kept, landscaping not groomed, large panes of glass leaning up against the wall right outside our door. The unit itself was ok, the multitude of remotes was a little intimidating once into the unit. Very difficult to find the light switches without a light on. Supplies were minimal as well as cookware and plates. I had to wash dishes right after each meal otherwise we wouldn't have any available for the next meal. The décor was kind of cute if you like the industrial mish/mash look, but it was clean. Batteries were almost dead in the A/C remote and one of the ceiling light bulbs was blue. Very disorienting. We were only told the key was under the mat after waiting for over 45 minutes. I didn't find VRBO to be much of a help either. I actually received a request for review by the unit owner.....a couple of days prior to our arrival?!?! How do they expect a review when we hadn't even been in the unit yet. But yet they cant give the access instructions until 45 minutes after the guest arrives. The location was good, just across the street from a small park and boat access. The overall area, however, was like a ghost town. Very few people out walking or biking at all, and nothing to do for activities. It's fine if your looking for a retirement vacation, but unfortunately we were not. I would give a general rating of 3 stars due to the lack of after hours check ins information.
