"Food is excellent! Area is fantastic, quieter than other places in Mallorca. 5 minutes walk from Es Trenc beach which is a dream! The hotel areas are very well designed! Highly recommend! I would only make the A/C slightly powerful in the rooms but I understand the days we were there were particularly hot!"

"Staff has been second to non: incredibly nice, attentive,very helpful and in a good mood every single day. They do not try to upsell anything which has been the case in many other resorts. It's a modern and clean hotel. Rooms are clean and have a modern tranquil look. The location itself is very quiet. Only downside would be that a car rental would be needed if you want to see many places across the island as it is not that well connected by public transport. The local bus only runs once an hour. Half board: very good quality food but after a week, the choices at the a la carte dinner get slim."

"Nice modern and very clean apartment. The breakfast and diner buffet was a really good value. There are so many interesting choices of restaurants at the marina a few blocks away. My son lived the swimming pools, however most of the area is about 160 cm deep. The location was further from my favourite beaches however close to the beach next to the port. Very close to the boardwalk for an evening walk. Still close to everything in town as it takes at most 20 minutes to reach the furthest shoreline. The people at the reception are incredible. They also recommend a catamaran excursion which was a wonderful experience. I got to see the beautiful surrounding shorelines and beaches and swam in clear turquoise water. "

"Wow - where to start? We had the most amazing stay at Universal Hotel Marques. First of all the location is unbelievable: the only hotel in Colonia de Sant Jordi with this prime location: sea on three sides, and the last hotel before the start of the beach (Es Coto public beach which is part of the bay with the stunning Es Trenc beach). You cannot beat this location. We had a sea view room on floor 1 which overlooked the pool and then the sea - so stunning, plus private sun loungers as well as table and chairs on our large balcony. The hotel have thought of everything: free wifi, free cold water refill stations throughout the hotel and so many hooks in the rooms (so necessary to avoid tossing clothes on the bed, there were hooks everywhere). Next the food: we stayed half board and the buffet was excellent! At least 25 dishes plus show cooking fresh food at breakfast (omelettes) and dinner (fish/meat). The dinner food included pates, fruits, salads (change daily), fish, meat, lasagne, pizza, pasta, paella, chips, potatoes, cooked vegetables, soup and multiple desserts. The bar drinks were also very good and strong and we received welcome drinks our first night. The best thing about the bar is outdoor seating that wraps around the hotel for sea and beach views - stunning! There were very few negatives: no door on the bathroom area and a window to the shower cubicle from the bedroom so privacy is a problem depending on who you are sharing with.
