La famille fit des travaux extérieurs (fin XIXème) et intérieur (1920) afin de redonner à Montpoupon l'aspect Renaissance qu'il présente aujourd'hui. It was the scene of bloody fighting. The fourteenth century, Montpoupon passed to the lords of Requests andBuzançais. Antoine de Prie and his wife, Madeleine d'Amboise, the castle rebuilt it in 1460.They turned it into a Renaissance-style mansion In 1857 John Baptist de la Motte St. Pierre, great grandfather of the current owner,bought the castle. The family was outside work (end of XIX) and interior (1920) to give back to Renaissance Montpoupon appearance it has today.
