"1 complaint is the awful shuttle experience I had upon arrival. Was reserved on 2:30pm shuttle from SJO, but spent over 2 hrs & numerous unanswered calls to front desk, I was repeatedly told only via email the driver is "15 minutes away". This went on every 15 minutes for 2+ hrs! I didn't leave the designated pick-up area to avoid missing it the shuttle. I literally stood outside the airport (no seats for waiting), w/out a bathroom break, water, w/out applying my bug spray (very much needed during rainy season when mosquitoes are bad), & w/out air conditioning. I was tired, frustrated, & received false information for over 2 full hours from front desk staff that refused to answer my calls or call me back, but would only email me instead. I would've caught an Uber/Taxi, but was being consistently told that the driver was only 15 mins. I was told to wait under the Hotel Shuttle sign or the driver would leave & that he was in a gray/silver minivan. Over 2 hrs later, at 4:38pm, driver arrived in a dark navy BLUE van, & stopped at the airport exit doors, NOT at the Hotel Shuttle sign over 200 feet away. The advertised "20 min ride" to Barcelo was actually an HOUR & a half! Staff claimed no control of traffic, but my point was they live there, know daily traffic patterns & rush hours, they said it's normally heavy, so don't falsely say it's 20 mins. as if that is normal. Don't threaten $30 penalty for passengers missing the van, when no credit given to passengers that wait 2 hrs! "

"Very disappointing and stressful experience. We tried to contact the host many times in the weeks leading up to our trip. While we did have some communication, their average response time was over 10 days, which made planning difficult and frustrating.On the day of check-in, the host still hadn’t provided the proper check-in information. I had to contact VRBO, who was finally able to reach the host and assured us we would receive the check-in details one hour before arrival. Instead, at that time, the host unexpectedly cancelled our booking.This left 7 people, including children, stranded in a foreign country, scrambling last minute to find a place to stay. We were forced to completely change our plans, settle for alternative accommodations, and absorb significant added costs and stress — all of which could have been avoided with better communication and responsibility from the host.To make matters worse, the host falsely claimed that the property had already been booked by someone else before us. This is simply untrue, as we had multiple conversations and confirmations leading up to our trip, and they were fully aware we were scheduled to arrive.I would not recommend this host to anyone. Completely unreliable, unprofessional, and dishonest."

"I've booked a night in a luxury studio suite which was a hundred bucks a night and when I checked in, I was placed in economic room which is half of the luxury price, the bed was dusty, kitchen dirty (seemed like nobody booked it in a while) and most of all the place is infested with bees ... I discovered it in the morning when I went I to bathroom there was the whole nest chilling everywhere, mirror, walls, shower... .. the owner said it was Expedia fault that luxury studio isn't for rent anymore but there were people in it partying...and that Expedia should deal with the issue. As of now, I'm still waiting on the price difference refund between these two rents. I can say that I had such a nice welcome and lots of help from the young guy who works at the mansion and taking good care of it, he helped me to get in touch with the owner and even translated the needed information so all these stars go to him 👌 I don't recommend this place to anyone."
