"Room was musty smelling. Floor needed to be swept. Room needed dusting. Shower curtain had mold on the bottom. Shower walls had soap scum. There was a used bar of soap left on the sink. No wifi the entire stay. No phone in room. Lumpy mattresses. Unopened can of Spaghettios under the bed. No boot caddy in the room for wet/muddy shoes, nor any throw rugs. No extra pillows or blankets. Not enough parking (snow banks should have been removed). No mini fridge. "
"Great location. Staff were nice, view was pretty, everything was clean. A lot of the space felt freshly renovated. Large common area seemed cozy. Check in was easy. The outside of building is painted black, looks like it was a lighter color underneath and there weren’t enough coats of black paint to fully cover it, so it looked a little run down from the outside. Definitely not run down inside. The room was nice — the shower has a half wall kind of thing (not a full door or curtain) which I didn’t love, but not a big deal. Someone else’s long hair was on the bag holding the hair dryer, not the end of the world. The only really bad part — we woke up during the night a dozen times from a terrible metallic screeching noise. I had tried messing with the window to fix it, couldn’t figure it out — finally at 1am, short of asking to switch rooms, my fiance slammed the window closed super hard and the sound disappeared. Had to do it to both windows. Lastly, after a long day I wanted to watch some tv and go to sleep early. Some of the buttons on the remote didn’t work. I couldn’t screencast from my phone or log into any streaming apps. Ok, we’ll just watch cable then — but for some reason it was buffering and skipping the whole time. Oh well. "
"My boys and I had a great weekend at Whiteface Lodge. It's conveniently located to the local sites. When not seeing all the great things Lake Placid has to offer, we felt right at home at the lodge. With the game room, movie theater, pool and roasting marshmallows over the campfire, we have terrific memories of our stay. Looking forward to coming back again. "
"The staff was amazing! Clean room! The restaurant/bar was amazing. The food was $$$ but sooo worth it. So many fun things to do. Cant wait to go back"
"Breakfast was awful. None of the food is freshly made. It's all cheap, packaged and highly processed food. Fruit is canned. Pastry selection is lacking. Eggs are salty and premade. No real maple syrup to go with the waffles. Needs improvement "
