"This was a small private room with bathroom in a guest house in a great location a minutes walk from the tourist information office . Great location for walking around . This operation has two separate properties very close by on the same street . We made the mistake of going to the second property which was well signed with the guest house name but the registration office was at the first house that was not as obvious . To make things easier for first time guests I would suggest signage at the first house that indicates “ 1012 Guest House Reception”"

"The welcome was lovely and warm, staff were always helpful, very much appreciated as a solo traveller. The room was spacious and clean, yes, there was a slight smell coming from the water outlet in the shower, but opening the windows, sorted that out. No issues with flies, as I read in a previous review, could have been the time of year as I was there during the first week in September. The gardens unfortunately weren’t as seen in advert, so maybe some up to date photos there. Wonderfully central, 3-4 minutes to the centre of the town where you could get buses, tuc tucs or taxis to all the sights, 15 minutes to the train station for trains to Lisbon. Plenty shops and restaurants too. Great for a short visit to beautiful Si tra."

"Our stay at Sintra’s Rose Garden Essence was absolutely lovely and very whimsical—the perfect atmosphere for a visit to Sintra’s beautiful castles and palaces. The room was a good size, with a nicely appointed bathroom and thoughtful amenities including shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, a shower cap, and a vanity box. We also felt very safe, with secure, coded access to both the building and our room. Breakfast was beautifully arranged and offered enough options to get the day started, including traditional meats and cheeses, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, omelettes, variety of breads and scrambled eggs. Our host was gracious and welcoming, offering wonderful recommendations for restaurants and castles to visit, as well as transportation options. She was also happy to answer all of our questions throughout our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would happily stay again!"
