Hôtel Le Tivoli Théopolis

"This property was a big surprise. We have stayed at five star hotels on our journey and others poor. First, the staff provided us the access for an after hours check-in, which was perfect. The room was simple, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast was simple, but very clean and pleasant surroundings. A great value. The location was magnificent in the nearby restaurant was magnificent as well."

"The room was an annex with patio doors, allowing my bike to be stored inside. Lots of beds and a television with a VHS player (which I did not use). West facing room but with heavy shutters so it was cool enough. I was able to have some washing done on the rest day of my tour. Walking distance from the village and retaurants. I was able to make by breakfast but there is only a microwave and kettle so not suitable for more elaborate meal preparation. Cutlery and crockery only for 2 persons despite beds for 4."

"Catherine est une hôtesse très accueillante et réactive. Le gîte est très bien situé non loin de Digne mais en même temps complètement au calme, en lisière de forêt. Nous avons profité pleinement de la terrasse ombragée et du Spa idéal pour se rafraîchir ! Le gîte est très bien aménagé, sobre et fonctionnel. Nous nous sommes beaucoup plu dans ce lieu. A recommander !"

"We stayed only one night but found this location to be a nice stop in between Cannes/Antibes and Grenoble on the Napoleon road. The room was clean and comfortable. Only thing missing was a mini fridge to keep our water bottles cold. We were there during the heat wave and there was luckily air conditioning but not super strong. Staff was super helpful and friendly."

"We couldn’t have loved this property more. Keep in mind, it is a 16th century Bastide, so it will never be a glitzy modern hotel. The furnishings are basic but the rooms are spacious. It feels like you are staying in an old country inn. Only drawback, you may have to carry your bags up a steep and narrow staircase—we had two flights to climb, and it was a bit of a workout—doable for us but maybe not for everyone. In the garden there are patio tables and chairs arranged around an old courtyard fountain. When we were there in summer, the vegetation was a bit overgrown, which only added to the ambiance. Flowers spilled over and luscious fruit hung from the trees. It smelled like fresh cut grass and roses. To get to the hilltop village, you climb up a small private path that looks down into the neighbors’ properties and you see chickens, and vegetable and flower gardens. The village is enchanting! Finally, the manager is delightful! Her English is not too good, but she did her best to help with any request. We definitely felt welcome and had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We would certainly come again!"
