I love to meet my guests, but often times, my guests let themselves in and we may not even run into each other. Not to worry though, I am always a simple phone call if you have any questions or need anything! If it is important for you to meet me, please let me know so I can plan accordingly. Thank you!
The Eastside is a historic neighborhood that used to lie under the shadow of the old Cooper River bridges. The area has been home to rapid gentrification in recent years as more young families, students, and young professionals have moved into the neighborhood. One of the most impressive projects in this area is the renovation of the Cigar Factory, completed in 2015, a mixed-use development with shops, bars, and restaurants. Everywhere there are cranes and new construction transforming this neighborhood into a walkable, mixed use community.
- ON FOOT: To get the full flavor of Charleston, you need to walk. Art galleries, boutiques, restaurants and historic homes fill downtown and many are in close proximity to one another. But if you`re touring around in the sweltering summer, make sure to apply sunscreen and drink plenty of water. If you want a little direction while strolling, consider signing up for a guided walking tour.
- CAR: If you plan on staying in the city`s outskirts or spending some time at the beach, you`ll need to rent a car. You`ll find several agencies, such as Hertz, Enterprise and Budget, located at Charleston International Airport and throughout the Greater Charleston area.
- BUS AND TROLLEY: The city operates bus lines, as well as free DASH shuttles. The DASH buses stop at popular points of interest, such as the South Carolina Aquarium, Charleston City Market, Waterfront Park and the Charleston Museum. You probably won`t use the city buses as much as the DASH shuttles, unless you`d like to explore Mount Pleasant, the town east of Charleston (across the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge). The city also offers service from downtown Charleston to the airport – the NASH Express route shuttles travelers back and forth.
A one-way ride on the bus costs $2 and gives weary feet a rest. You can buy passes at the downtown Charleston Visitor Center, the CARTA station and several grocery stores. One-day passes cost $7; three-day passes cost $14. NASH Express one-way tickets cost $3.50. Trolleys are free to ride. For information on route scheduled and operation hours, check the Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) website. - CARTA - NASH Express
- TAXI: You`ll find a handful of taxis stationed at the airport and scattered throughout Charleston`s downtown area. But cabs aren`t as easy to come by outside city limits; plan to call ahead to book a metered taxi if you`re not staying downtown. Popular companies include Charleston Cab Company and Charleston Green Taxi. Ride-hailing services like Uber and Lyft also operate in the Charleston area.
NEIGHBORHOOD
***Please note that the home is located in an older historic home in a neighborhood that is in the midst of a rapid gentrification. It is a mix of younger families, young professionals, college students, and lower income housing. While we feel the home is in a great location (with a Walk Score of 89) and the locals in Charleston are as friendly as they come, THE OPTICS OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD MAY NOT BE FOR EVERYONE. If areas of gentrification make you feel unsafe or uncomfortable we urge you to book elsewhere. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS DUE TO THE LOCATION. Please book accordingly.
HOME
THIS IS AN OLDER HOME BUILT IN 1852 THAT STILL HAS TRAITS ASSOCIATED WITH AN OLDER HOME. While there have been some small cosmetic renovations it still has old bones and guests may notice areas of uneven flooring, cracks in ceilings, cracks in paint, old doors, etc. If comparing prices in Charleston, we feel it is an affordable alternative to hotels and other homes in the area but anyone expecting luxury accommodations in a brand new house should look elsewhere.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
Your safety and comfort are our priority. In the unlikely event of a MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDER FOR CHARLESTON COUNTY during your stay, rest assured that both the Owner/Host and the Property Management Company WILL REFUND 100% OF YOUR PAYMENTS for the dates of evacuation. Once refunded, neither party will have further liability regarding your Reservation.
Please note that ONLY MANDATORY EVACUATIONS WILL QUALIFY FOR REFUNDS. No other travel disruptions due to weather, whether in South Carolina or other states, are eligible. For protection, consider travel insurance, especially in high-risk months like hurricane season. Airbnb`s insurance or other options are recommended. We recommend looking into Airbnb`s insurance or other alternatives.
INSECTS
As Charleston is situated in a warm, coastal climate it is possible to see insects inside or outside of the home at times. These include palmetto bugs, sand gnats, mosquitoes, ants, etc. Those who live in the Lowcountry just accept this as part of living here but it may be unsettling for those from other areas. The home is treated regularly for pest control but this will not entirely eliminate insects from getting inside at times. Please do your best to not keep doors and windows open and not leave food or drinks out in the home as this will attract insects. FINDING AN INSECT IS NOT CAUSE FOR A REFUND.
DAMAGE DEPOSIT
A $500 damage deposit will be pulled from the card used for booking before your departure date. It will be automatically fully refunded to your card within 5-10 business days if there are no claims made for damages.
We appreciate your understanding and are here to assist with any inquiries. We look forward to your visit.

Cute little place. Clean and as described. Conveniently located. It rained heavily the length of our stay so we drove to a parking garage then walked everywhere from there. Very attentive host. Clear and descriptive instructions on all aspects of our stay. Made sure to leave the lights on for us for our nighttime arrival and checked in to make sure all was well. Nice fresh linens and towels and provided body wash, shampoo, cream rinse and lotion like the nice hotels do. We enjoyed our stay
