The staff at the Earl were very friendly. The location is great with easy walking distance to beach, lighthouse and Mushroom houses. Continental breakfast was good but best was the 24/7 free espresso machine.

We celebrated our daughter’s 3rd birthday here and chose it because it had a pool and year round outdoor hot tub. I usually shy away from boutique hotels but I was delighted that I took a change on Hotel Earl! It exceeded my expectations every step of the way! We travel all over and often and this was easily one of the top 10 hotel rooms I’ve stayed in! The room was huge and beautifully decorated with tons of character. I could see how the pool and hot tub could get crowded fast in peak season but they were perfect for our April stay! The breakfast was much better than expected and the lady who was working the lo bar/lobby area while we celebrated our daughter’s birthday was so attentive and helpful. She went above and beyond which was definitely not expected but certainly appreciated!! Well done Hotel Earl!!!

Enjoyed our stay, paid for an upgrade from the King Suite I had booked and Im not sute how it was an upgrade but the bed was comfortable! The shower was great. There was construction going on next door so the noise of hammering, pounding was present until about 630p and started Sunday about 8a. The pool and hot tub were amazing and the breakfast was too notch!

Everything about The Earl was fantastic. The room was so nice, super modern! The pool and hot tub was also a lot of fun! The only thing I would change would be the breakfast, maybe add some scrambled eggs, and bacon/sausage. Other than that, the parking lot was always full at night but convenient street parking right next to the hotel. Highly recommend!!

Upon check in, our room was not cleaned. They had no other rooms for us to take, so we waited for staff to “clean.” It was only given a quick once over, and the staff threw away my son’s leftovers. After assuring us we could leave our belongings in the room during cleaning, Staff left our room door open & unlocked while she went elsewhere to gather supplies. Later, I stepped on a screw on the room floor and found a nasty bottle of used KY jelly on the bed platform. Pool was closed half the time, and bummed out the kids. Parking was AWFUL, no room whatsoever, had to park on the street and got ticketed for doing so.

Staff was very nice. Toilet paper holder was broken and paper almost fell on floor. Shower floor was dirty, probably from the fancy patterns used. Could not shut off light under the bed which prevented the room from getting dark. Called front desk and they told me that there was a switch next to the bed. After searching and searching, we gave up. Next morning, turns out it was a switch all the way by the front door and it seems that nobody knew this. A loud fire alarm went off in hotel, in every room, at 12am waking my family up in a panic, we rushed to find clothes and get dressed to get outside in the November cold, nothing happened and nobody came outside to say anything. Went back in to try to get back to sleep. 20 minutes later, fire alarm goes off again. again, nothing. told hotel staff and they said, 'no worries, it's fine, it was a false alarm'. It wasn't fine for us not being able to sleep and standing outside in the cold. No warm food for breakfast, such as eggs. There was instant oatmeal which turned out to have flax and chia seeds in it. No normal oatmeal was available. Went out to buy breakfast somewhere else, costing us more money. We paid almost double the rates of other hotels to stay here based on good reviews. The place was really stylish but wish I could say that a good rest and a good meal were part of it, which is the #1 purpose of a hotel. Next time I'll just save money and find somewhere that we can actually sleep.

This was our second visit to this hotel and once again we were pleased with our stay; perfect location for viewing fall colors in all neighboring towns. The room itself was very spacious. One may want to note that the pillows and mattress are EXTREAMLY SOFT. The walls are also very thin. We had a corner room which helped with the noise from neighboring rooms, however one night the noise of the wind kept us up all night; there was so much banging on the side of the building and roof. The items available at breakfast were good, however they are mostly just all carbs (pastries, bagels, oatmeal) with an added hard boiled egg, small container of yogurt, and chopped mixed fruit.

Not worth the money
The stay was very nice but very loud. We had a room on the 2nd floor above the hot tube and it was very noisy. The bar was very small and didn't have any seats and there's no restaurant, for $300/night I expected more. The room was absolutely beautiful but we couldn't see the water from our room, I doubt you can from any of the rooms.
