Spend a relaxing day at the seaside on gorgeous Okinawa Beach, complete with a shipwreck playground, several picnic pavilions, a safe swimming zone and quiet walking trails.
It was my favorite city. As an American woman on my own, I felt very safe in this city. I woke early and walked to watch the sunrise and swim. It was lovely and the people were very nice.

Chatan, in particular the area around the Sunabe Seawall and the area around Mihama, are happening areas. Lots of shops, restaurants, bars, etc.

Lovely area but if you're looking for Japan this is not it. The Scuba Diving was Amazing and we will be back for that but that's about it

"American Village was the best place to stay in Okinawa!. There were so many places to go to for dining and shopping! Vessel Hotel was beautiful, convenient and clean! We loved the swimming pool and the other facilities. The staff was friendly and some of them spoke English. We would definitely stay here again if we came back to Okinawa!"
