About this property

Peaceful Cabin with Boat Dock along the Black River

  • 2 bedroom mobile home, converted to a cabin on the Black River. The bathroom has been renovated. Large windows allow excellent views of the river. Sit on the deck or 3 season room and watch the boats go by. Linens and towels are not provided with the rental, you will have to bring your own, there is a laundry unit for your convenience. There is a private boat dock. Bring your own boat to fish / cruise the river or head out to Black Lake. Black Lake is 10,000 acres with several sandy beach areas to stop and a swim. There are also 2 Kayaks to paddle the river down to the damn or out to the lake. Bring your ATVs, ride to the Black Mountain Recreation Area and 2 extensive trail systems. "The best ATV area in Lower Michigan" The cabin is close to several bars / restaurants and golf courses. 15 minutes from Downtown Cheboygan and 40 minutes from Mackinaw City / Mackinac Island.

Canin is newly remodeled with easy access to river and black lake. aside from a bit of a cold rainy start we enjoyed the property and the surrounding area. property was clean and well maintained.

Quiet retreat

The house was very cute and quaint. It's on a really nice river. It brought back a lot of good childhood memories and was a very comfortable stay. Being a dog friendly place to stay was really nice and accommodating. Upgrades were nice and the place was very clean.

What an amazing stay, this place is a little slice of heaven. Whether it's relaxing on the property around the fire, or out on the dock, you'll love this place. They have the house stocked with basically anything you could need and take very good care of it as well. Hope to come back!

Nice getaway

We had a great time fishing and kayaking on the river. The property was a nice place to stay. We could not get the drier to work. Cell phone service was not great, and WiFi was not set up yet. But it was nice to unplug and enjoy nature for a few days.

Nice quiet place on the river.

Overall I'd say the description of the property was accurate. As far as it being clean, I would say that the outdoor space could have been swept and wiped down better. The chairs and table had to be wiped down to use them. (This could be due to rain and storms prior, but not sure) The inside was clean and neat. We did encounter someone else's sheets in the washer when I went to use it. I decided not to do wash. We loved the 3 season porch and sat out there in the mornings with coffee. Also a great space for our dog.

Perfect place!!

This cottage was perfect for what we needed! Our daughter had a softball tournament in Cheboygan. The place was very clean and cute! Bathroom was very nicely updated. It’s a retro mobile home that’s updated. Perfect spot right on the river. The owners were amazing and have the house right behind the cottage. Great people. The neighbors on the other side were quiet. We were told by the owners that the neighbors aren’t very dog friendly. The lot is smaller so just keep that in mind if you bring your dog. You have to make sure that they stay on the cottage property. Also, if you plan on fishing right there it’s very shallow so no fish right at the cabin. The lake and dam aren’t very far away so you can go fishing there. We didn’t have time to use the kayaks but they were there and very nice. Bring sheets and towels, as those aren’t provided. Highly recommend this place for a nice get away!!

Lovely little cabin on the river

This riverside cabin was perfect for what we needed - a spot near Cheboygan where we could work during the day and relax in the evenings. Wifi strong enough to support large Zoom meetings in kitchen, three-season porch and deck. Everything very clean and cute, and kitchen well-stocked! We loved the river and were particularly fond of the pretty early-morning mists that floated over it. Owners were kind and accommodating, with great communication. We would stay again when in the area.

Relaxing Vacation

Absolutely loved our stay at Peaceful Cabin. It was clean! It lived up to its name of "Peaceful Cabin" and was very relaxing and quite. Loved being close to the water and central to various cities in Michigan. We were roughly 25 miles to the UP which was perfect! Will be renting again.
