About this property
Chelsea Lake House, Game Room, & Pontoon-rental
Come bike, hike, fish, kayak, boat and have a fire right on the shore of the lake, yet close to picturesque downtown Chelsea (3 miles) that features bars, shopping, excellent restaurants and we’re a short drive to downtown Ann Arbor/UoM Stadium (18 miles). We cater to families and business people alike with a fully renovated home, kayaks (5), paddle boat (life jackets provided), game room with ping pong, darts, table for poker, stone fire pit, etc. PONTOON RENTAL NOW AVAIL for addit fee. Contact us for details. The space As soon as you walk in the front door you’ll see the lake backed by huge trees through the large windows in the kitchen and sunroom through the open floor plan. There’s a wood fireplace and cozy sitting area on one side of the kitchen, large custom bar with 3 stools, huge kitchen farm table with seating for at least 6, which leads into the attached sunroom with large sectional. The hallway immediately off the kitchen/dining room leads to two spacious bedrooms with queen size beds. The second bathroom is equipped with a whirlpool tub and a Bluetooth exhaust fan/speaker where you can listen to music and relax. The second bedroom can be used as the ‘master’ as it has an attached, private, bathroom. A large laundry room with washer and dryer and utility sink are provided for your use. The hallway ends at an enormous third bedroom with a king size bed and plenty of room to either getaway yourself or let the kids have their own space to do so and has large glass doors with a view of the lake and a private entrance to the back yard. The third bedroom is directly connected to the 4th bedroom via French doors (see floorplan picture) and has a futon that is actually comfortable and is ideal for either letting all the kids camp out and sleep or if you have little ones you want to keep a close eye on.
The intimate backyard has a stone fire pit and the property sits feet away from the lake. The lake itself is a natural, spring fed, cool lake that is up to 30’ deep and has blooming lilly pads for large parts of the summer; during the summer, we provide a swim dock to hang out and jump into the cool water. There are lilly pads along the shoreline of the property but open water trail like systems cut through the lake and really add to the charm of the lake. As you paddle west from the house the lake opens up more and more and this is where you’ll see sporadic swim docks. The entirety of the east, south, and west shores are completely undeveloped with stunning fall colors or unspoiled nature and beauty year round; it’s truly gorgeous and you’ll feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. In our opinion, it's easily the best lake to fish in the area. Guest access Access via smart lock. Private parking Other things to note The neighborhood you’ll stay in is a quiet neighborhood on a dead end dirt road where the home is directly on the lake and 900 square feet of pole barn across the street is the game room. The game room space is large enough that if you have bad weather you can play baggo within it and make a fire in the pot belly stove! It is a barn where there is electrical power, a fridge, and the previously mentioned amenities but it’s largely exposed studs and there is no running water, but it’s a wonderful space that has provided lots of good times. We’re located only a few miles away and we truly want to ensure you have a fantastic time, we certainly do when we’re there.

Very nice home and property. Home was comfortable, clean, enough beds for everybody and only 5 miles from the wedding for my grandaughter. Would rent again.

This is a beautiful house & property. Quiet & on the water. Plenty of amenities. Biking, kayak, outdoor fire pit and so much more! Hosts were wonderful. Close to Ann Arbor. Quaint town with restaurants & shopping. Would love to stay here again!!!
The house was perfect for three families to gather for an early Thanksgiving and a birthday celebration. We travelled with a 9 month old and appreciated the hosts having a pack and play and a high chair at the house. The outdoor fire pit was awesome! We will definitely book this house again when we visit our family in Chelsea.
Perfect location when you’re only staying for a couple days and it’s easier to have family come to you! Got a chance to have all of my family come and visit and meet the new baby. Nice quiet backdrop of the lake was so relaxing and made a lot of great memories. Thanks for everything will definitely keep in mind for next trip.
We had a wonderful stay. We were dropping off our daughter in Ann Arbor for school and used this as our base camp. It was a relaxing retreat from the craziness of Ann Arbor, but was convenient access. We loved exploring Chelsea and were delighted with the variety and quality of the restaurants there. The lake was so peaceful and we enjoyed canoeing and exploring the bike path. We will definitely be back.
Had a great stay at this beautiful home. Was calm and peaceful and very clean. The hosts had all the essentials we needed and then some. Clay was great to communicate with us and helped us with anything we needed. He went above and beyond. We booked a second trip planned for this summer. Can’t wait to come back!
This was a great location for our yearly boys/dad's weekend. It's a great space, the garage/game room is fun, it does take a while to heat up when it's cold. It looks like it would be even better in the summer! t's cold
The house was great and easily accommodated our group of adults and children ranging in age from toddlers to under a year. The kayaks were a big hit and the town of Chelsea is quite charming. Clay was a great host, went above and beyond with communication and recommendations. Would highly recommend.
Although we were not able to stay at this property yet, the hosts were fantastic! A booking error out of our control caused us to have last minute change in plans. The hosts worked with us to find a new location. I couldn’t have asked for better hosts to work with! We hope to get to stay this fall!
We had a wonderful stay! The owners communicated extremely well with us and were so thoughtful with how they stocked the house with amenities to make our trip comfortable. Our toddler loved reading books they provided and playing with the board games. Our dogs were in heaven and had some great ball sessions in the back yard. I went on an awesome 10 mile run- I followed the Border to Border Trail right from the house and went up to some great single track at the DTE Trailhead. Just an all around lovely family trip that we’ll remember forever. Thank you!
Nice quiet location with beautiful views of the lake. Very comfortable for three couples (one with a child). Two of the bedrooms are separated only by a double set of glass doors, and you have to walk through one to access the other. It is clear on the floor plan that one bedroom is a walkthrough, but not so obvious that there are only a double set of glass doors (with no curtains) separating the rooms. So listing this cottage as four bedroom is a bit misleading. We were in Chelsea for a family event in winter. Would be fun to stay there in summer and swim in the lake. Chelsea is a charming little town, only 10 minutes away.
For our annual friends' reunion, we enjoyed an amazing weekend at the lake house and impressed our out-of-towners with the beauty, tranquility, and wonder of Michigan summer/lake life. The house was extremely clean, comfortable, stocked with a full kitchen, and full of entertainment (TV, games, books). The patio with bistro lights is the perfect place to grill out and enjoy outdoor dining, fire pit with Adirondack chairs for cool nights. Most of all, we absolutely loved spending time on the lake (with provided kayaks, paddleboat, and canoe) and the lake is incredibly clean to swim in. We didn't want the day to end, and went out again for a peaceful sunset on the lake. The game room in the barn is stacked with ping pong, darts, and bikes (where we taught one of the friends how to ride!). Check-in/out was easy/convenient, communication with the hosts timely and impeccable. Can't wait to return!
We had plenty of room to spread out and comfortably enjoy our time together! The kitchen had everything we needed and the rooms were comfortable.Because Michigan is humid and the home is on a lake, there was musty smell in the home, but we bought a candle and that helped.
We live in Bedford, so it’s far enough away to take a break from normal day chaos, but close enough if needed to go home! Lots to do for all ages, plenty of space, clean and essentials provided!
Perfect place to stay and right by the downtown of Chelsea Michigan. Make sure you look at the lay out before you book because we were surprised by how two of the bedrooms were joined but it worked out well for us regardless! We had one issue but they were super responsive and helped us resolve the issue right away.
We visited the area for a family reunion in Munith and loved our time at this property. The lake was beautiful, and the house was quite charming. It was the perfect size for our family, and the game room so a lot of use!
The hosts were fantastic with great communication and flexibility. I would highly reccomend this property to anyone seeking some lake tranquility and a destination for the whole family to enjoy.
The lake house is very comfortable and was well equipped. The owners obviously care about their place and their guests. We were 5 minutes to Chelsea and its wonderful restaurants and shopping. Spectacular mountain biking on the DTE Energy Trail was just a short drive (or bike ride) away. This was our fourth trip to Chelsea, and our third rental in the area. This place comes out on top - lots to do and the best location you could hope for.
