You can pack light as there are a lot of supplies in the home. The home is within walking distance to everything with exception of the grocery store and that is a 5 minute drive. Home was clean and property manager was responsive to our needs. Very friendly.

Great place to stay while visiting Indiana Dunes

This was a great house to relax in after exploring Indiana Dunes! Very close to the park as well as restaurants. Listing was exactly as described on VRBO. Would definitely recommend!

Great group vacation spot

Cozy, clean, welcoming, and plenty of space for all 8 of us! We had a great time at a nearby beach and there was enough to do in the area that we stayed busy even on rainy days. It was pretty perfect for a group weekend getaway!

Great location. Central to all of Indiana Dunes National Park. Beware of the trains if you are a light sleeper. No issues sleeping after all the hiking we did though. Im very happy with the place

Showchoir trip

This quaint house was perfectly located for attending the Trojan Classic showchoir competition. Plenty of room and nicely equipped. Though it was too cold to use the backyard it looked very nice.

Clean, Cozy, and Close to the City

We had a great stay at this rental during our weekend trip to Chicago! The house was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. It was the perfect home base—quiet and peaceful in Chesterton, but still within easy driving distance to the city and local spots like Indiana Dunes. The host, Eddi, was responsive and made check-in super easy. We really appreciated the cozy living spaces, and it was a great place to unwind after long days of exploring. Would definitely recommend this place to others looking for a mix of nature and city access!

Great home for a great vacation!

We had such a great time here! It was the perfect size with many more beds/places to sleep than we even needed. The kitchen was well-stocked, the backyard was great, and we loved being able to take our dog with us. We loved that we were within minutes of both grocery stores, places to eat, and the beach. The host always responded promptly and was extremely accommodating. We would definitely stay again!

Short Family Stay

We enjoyed having a family meet-up at the Dunes Home. The days ended up being extremely rainy, so we didn't have the chance to enjoy the backyard or visit the Dunes. The location was so close to downtown, so the adults were able to go down and sample at the winery. House had great accommodations for us to fit in comfortably and cooks and eat in-house. .

Perfect location for dunes visit

The property was as listed and well kept. Check in was hassle free and location was perfect for us as we were visiting the dunes for the beach and hiking trails. The whole family came and appreciated that there were a few games to play, a private outdoor space and needed items for cooking a meal. We enjoyed a morning walk to both Dunkin and Starbucks before heading out, would definitely recommend!

Perfect Getaway in Chesterton

Or stay at this charming three bedroom house in Chesterton was absolutely delightful. The Home was clean and thoughtfully furnished, providing a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The fully equipped kitchen made meal preparation a breeze and the spacious living area were perfect for family gatherings. The location is quite ideal, walking distance to coffee, shops and restaurants and a nice park. It’s a short drive to the stunning Indiana dunes national park and beautiful Lake Michigan. Chesterton is a lovely town with charming shops and excellent dining options. Our host was incredibly responsive and accommodating ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation in the Chesterton area. We would love to return in the future.

We very much enjoyed our stay in Chesterton at the Dunes House. Our host was always available to respond if I had a question. The accommodations were excellent lots of comfy beds, a beautiful private outdoor space with a cozy atmosphere and a fire pit. Great Location

Three night stay for our family of 4. My 6 year old loved the bunk beds and a pack n play was provided for our 1 year old which was great. The house is close to train tracks and while you can hear the trains pretty consistently they were not excessively loud. The proximity to downtown Chesterton was fantastic and we loved being able to walk to so many things. The stairs to upstairs are very steep so not recommend for kids but there was plenty of downstairs space for them.

Comfortable home close to Chersterton shops

Nice little home that's been very recently updated and includes modern amenities. Local trains can be a bit load at night but the host included warning and supplied ear plugs that made sleeping peacefully no issue for our family. Walking distance to cute little "downtown" Chesterton shops and restaurants. Great communication with the owner who was flexible to our requests and eager to address anything we may have found issue with.

Parkdale reunion

Very clean and in the heart of Chesterton. Walked to everything. Charming eclectic historic home with everything you need and lots of personal touches by the owner who thought of everything. Earplugs for the trains, but that’s the wonderful thing about Chesterton is hearing the trains. Also, snacks to get you started and anything you may have forgotten like a toothbrush is there for you. We will return, no doubts about it.

Cute little house

A cute little house in walking distance to downtown Chesterton. Very close to the beach. Nice backyard with fire pit. The house is very small but had everything we needed. The house had a musty smell but we aired it off out by opening some windows and running the fans. A couple of the windows didn’t have screens and the window sills need a cleaning. The neighbors house has a lot of junk in the yard with people smoking. It was hard to tell if they were fixing up the house or if they were just messy. Overall the area was adequate for our needs.

There were 6 of us staying in Chesterton for a wedding. The house was very close to the reception which is why we selected it. It's also very convenient to the Dunes. For the most part the house was clean but according to our host his cleaning service let him down. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes, still some garbage in the garbage cans and the grass had not been cut for weeks. I'm also quite surprised that none of the other reviews mention the incredible amount of trains that go by in all hours of the night blowing their horns. The host actually has a supply of ear plugs in the house! Check in process was good, wifi worked great and the kitchen had what we needed for our short stay (2 nights). Overall this house served our purpose but was not my best VRBO experience.

Great Long term Lodging

My brother and I booked this place for several weeks in January for work training. The home was spacious and allowed us to have separate living spaces between the upstairs and downstairs with our own separate bathrooms. This home would definitely accommodate a larger family or two average size families staying together. The home was fully furnished with coffee maker, keurig, large refrigerator, silverware, coffee cups, plates, bowls and pots/pans for cooking. Home was furnished with lots of linens, pillows and beds. Beds were comfortable and supported by a solid frame. Trains came through the area at night but did not bother me, I always sleep with a fan. Soft ear plugs are provided if needed. The trains were quiet and did not produce too much noise. We enjoyed watching movies on the tv upstairs. The futon was comfortable and the television was a perfect size for the location. The home is older but with recent updates, I even enjoyed its quirky features. The only issue we ran into was that the water lines froze up while we were there and caused a water line to break under the house. Owner was very responsive and took care of the problem quickly. This was not a surprise given the age of the home and the extremely low temperatures that we experienced that week. Overall, I am very pleased with this place and would not hesitate to book again.
