We stayed at Sentral for a family getaway. It was comfortable & convenient to the activities we’d planned even in mixed weather. We walked an avg of 15k steps/day which was good! Bring sneakers & layers for a walk to mag mile or Sears tower (max 30 min).
The views of the museums and lake from the unit (1808) are spectacular as is the overall apartment set-up including a kitchen with a few essentials. Windows open out and there are no screens. You’ll get a few insect visitors, but nothing major in winter/spring. The pool area (flr 7) is great, no towels. Roof hot tub!
The staff, even in crowded reception, were consistently cheerful & helpful.
I’d read in previous reviews that the water heater is loud in one bathroom. This is no exaggeration & hadn’t been repaired when we were there. Tub drain mechanism was broken in our unit. And yes one BR has a sliding door that’s a bit odd (doesn’t open all the way & leaves a crack when closed).
Other than the bath, I struggled a bit with the kitchen. The set-up is nice, but it’s missing a couple of really important items we couldn’t easily pick up - no bowls, baking pans (foil only), coffee grinder. I’d brought pods & couldn’t use them. The blender is nice. Ice maker contained a solid sheet - no cubes. Decent stacked washer/dryer.
We paid much less on an app for parking nearby - no in/out so we left it in.
All in all, I DO recommend Sentral and we would book another stay as it was a solid choice for the money. Kids loved it.
