Approaching Church Stowe Church Stowe is definitely on a hill. That is very noticeable approaching on the footpath from the north where the village still seems a long way up.

View from Church Stowe Looking north-east towards the valley of the River Nene containing the canal, railway, Roman road and M1. The peaceful pastures below the church here seem miles away from all that.
