Château de Théoule Hôtel & Spa

8/10 Good

"Beautifully positioned by the sea and about 5 miles from Cannes. The local village is non-descript but does the job in terms of a variety of places to eat, a pharmacy and small super market. The hotel is sort of five star but not quite and property could be looked after a little better. The seating area outside the bar needs some work. The rooms are well appointed if a bit quirky in design but the quirkiness is part of the charm. Small public and private beaches just outside the hotel which is great. Good swimming pool. Staff very good especially the guys who deal with cars and luggage. Near enough to Cannes to drive in easily but far enough if you don’t want the Cannes madness 24 hours a day. Overall I would definitely recommend it."

Tiara Miramar Beach Resort

10/10 Excellent

"We loved our stay here and are already planning our return trip. Charlene on reception was brilliant (as we’re all the staff). The beds were super comfortable, the location was quiet and the sea beautiful. A great breakfast with lots of options and whilst we didn’t have a full lunch or dinner the snacks and small bites were excellent. There were also plenty of veggie options! Highly recommend and cannot wait to return."

Mercure Thalasso and Spa Port Frejus

8/10 Good

"The room was clean but needs renovation. Wardrobe handles and lamps are broken. Great to have a swimming pool but some of its rules are incomprehensible e.g., why men can only use speedo and not shorts? If it is for hygiene why swimming caps are not compulsory? Also, I would expect the hotel to provide beach umbrella for the shade, while apparently you have to bring your own for the pool. But who does that?"

Comfort Aparthotel Cannes Mandelieu

8/10 Good

"Large nicely air conditioned room with good size shower room and a little kitchenette. It’s a dog-friendly property which is awesome. Plenty of room in the underground carpark! The reception hours are limited, as advertised. Unfortunately, the “out of hours” number listed was not in operation. We needed to leave very early and forgot that we would need a key to access the carpark. We left the keys in our room (absolutely our error; we should have taken them at that stage and then dropped them in a discreet little drop box on exiting the carpark) and closed the door before realizing we couldn’t get to our car. There was nobody around and the out of hours number had a recording to try again later. We sat outside until the reception staff arrived and helped us out. It wasn’t the end of the world but would have been dramatic had we left something essential or had a flight to catch. Limited reception hours even in high season are one thing; not answering the phone is not acceptable. We recommend the property as good value for a motel experience, especially if you’re travelling with a pet. But learn from our lesson about early departure!"
