About this property
THUNDER RIDGE LODGE HAS AN AWESOME VIEW OF MT YONAH! Peace, privacy & seclusion.
Helen is the 3rd greatest attraction in Georgia. We are minutes from town. This is no slip shod “management run” Cabin. This is the owners pride and joy. It is meticulously maintained inside and out by them. We even “sage” after every stay to ensure only GOOD VIBES are always present. There will be NO DISAPPOINTMENTS of any sort at this incredible cabin. Recently purchased and completely redone inside and out. It is almost 1500 square feet. The location is spectacular. It is close to six mountain towns ( Helen, Cleveland, Clarksville, Cornelia, Dahlonega and Hiawassee) and not far from others(Blue Ridge, Ellijay and Blairsville). This town is set up like an Alpine village of Europe. It is an amazing year round destination, but from Octoberfest through Christmas and New Years… it’s a must see! In spring and summer, it is a water lovers delight, especially with tubing. There is also a multitude of outdoor activities including zip lining. In fall, the leaves changing colors and all the festivals are so beautiful and fun. There are so many things to do in this area of the mountains of Georgia. You can tube down a river in the Cleveland area or in the Town of Helen. We are just a few minutes from each. You can Zip Line or take a mountain roller coaster ride or go to the Miles Through Time Automotive Museum in Clarksville or go to Blue Ridge and go to the Bigfoot Museum. Do you like wine?? This is the NAPA VALLEY of Georgia. You can literally walk to the nearest winery ..which is one of the best wineries in Georgia. This is Yonah Mountain Vineyards. It’s about 1.6 miles away. There are at least a dozen wineries within 35 minutes of THUNDER Ridge Lodge. If you are a wine connoisseur or a sight seeing junkie, you are in the thick of it here, at THUNDER Ridge Lodge. You could visit the town of Dahlonega, where gold was first discovered in Georgia and where the 2nd largest gold rush in American history began. This is a mountain town to see. It is a great destination.
If you care to relax at the cabin and just chill, there is the FATHER OF ALL KING LOG BEDS in the Master bedroom to relax! You also have the options of relaxing in the spa tub, playing horseshoes, or having a campfire outside by the pavilion. You could also just sit on the deck or swing and stare at the incredible view of Mount Yonah. Watching the sun go down while viewing Mount Yonah is something you could do nightly for your stay. The swing has a picturesque view of Mount Yonah, and is one of the only clear views in this area from one outlook point to another. There is an amazing 10 ft tall Totem pole carved by the owner for picture taking opportunities. The lodge has park like settings. Inside the cabin, you have two large bedrooms with two full bathrooms. The spacious kitchen is well appointed for you to enjoy. The decor of the cabin has whimsical artwork and will make you feel as though you have stepped back in time, but with all of the modern day conveniences. In all ….you will completely enjoy your stay at Thunder Ridge Lodge……Please read the rules prior to booking. Beautiful property with everything we needed! The cabin was spotless and thoughtfully appointed. We loved the fire pit and the view of the mountains. Chris was very accommodating and responsive. Perfect for a weekend getaway!
Chris and Maria were excellent from start to finish. The cabin and property are gorgeous, clean and look exactly like the photos online. We plan to return and would encourage anyone to rent this cabin!
Welcoming and thoughtful hosts! You will not find a nicer, cleaner cabin with such amazing views anywhere else! Hot tub was awesome. Fire pit was nice and cozy! Just an overall amazing experience! We came to visit Helen but would come back just for this cabin! Highly recommended!!!!!
Thunder Ridge Lodge has an awesome view of Mt. Yonah! The setting offers total peace, privacy, and seclusion—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The host was kind and responsive, making everything easy from check-in to check-out. The cabin was spotless, with a comfortable, high-quality bed that made for restful nights. The hot tub was a highlight, especially in the evening while looking out at the mountain view. A beautiful, quiet escape that I’d definitely recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful mountain retreat.
We had a wonderful stay at this cabin! The Mountain View is fantastic, the place was immaculate, and the amenities provided were excellent, especially considering the reasonable price.
The hosts absolutely made this trip worth while. The property, the cabin, the stay: all beyond expectations. From the grounds to the cabin to the hot tub, everything clean and in working order.
We had the best time at Thunder Ridge. The cabin was decorated beautifully - I don’t think the pictures do it justice. Cabin was stocked with everything you could need. It was very close to downtown Helen & there is a dollar general close by. Owner, Chris, was so helpful in all of the food recommendations. They even left us a sweet little card & a bottle of wine for our anniversary. We felt like family. I cannot recommend Thunder Ridge enough! We can’t wait to go back!

We cannot say enough about how awesome this cabin was! We rent cabins quite frequently and this one was by far the absolute best. We loved the view of Mt. Yonah, the perfect fire pit, the hot tub, the awesome king sized bed and luxury linens, and most of all the stellar hosts who paid meticulous detail to ensure we had an amazing stay! We cannot wait until our next stay!
Cabin was as advertised: great location, impeccably clean and very comfortable. The view of Yonah mountain did not disappoint. Perfect place for rest and relaxation complimented by hiking and wine tasting. Host was most accommodating. Will return.
Everything was spot-on with advertisements. The views were amazing, the property was clean and squared away and communication with Chris (owner) was very prompt. Will be adding this to our weekend getaway location list.
This was the cleanest home we have ever rented! Chris and Maria were excellent hosts. The wine and snacks were a nice bonus. We loved the attention to detail in and around the cabin. We enjoyed the hot tub, outdoor seating on the deck, the fire pit, and horse shoes pit! If we return to the area we will rent again!
Thunder Ridge Lodge is super clean, well decorated, and included all amenities to make our stay easy and relaxing. The property manger is responsive and very willing to accommodate any concerns. The view of Mount Yonah from the master suite is nothing short of impressive. This property is located only a short drive from downtown Helen and several other area attractions. If you are looking for a cabin in the area, choose Thunder Ridge, you will not be disappointed.
We absolutely enjoyed this beautiful, well kept cabin over the 4th of July!! We enjoyed our morning coffee sitting in the rocking chairs with a beautiful view of Mt. Yonah! Evenings sitting in the Adirondack chairs watching the last glimpses of the Sun go down behind the mountain. A young Fawn made an appearance about 20’ from the front porch!! It was so easy communicating with the hosts! They went to every extent to make sure our stay was memorable and, it totally was!! Five Stars isn’t a high enough rating! Extremely clean and so cute!!!
Wow!!! Thunder Ridge Lodge was awesome! Chris and Maria have a wonderful place. Super clean and cozy, with everything you need for a great trip! Their attention to detail is unmatched by any other VRBO I’ve used! Chris’ communication is above and beyond any owner I’ve ever dealt with through VRBO. Super Guy that was attentive to all our needs. Quick to answer any questions we had before, during and after our stay. The view of Mt. Yonah is spectacular, and we enjoyed the visits from the local deer! It is obvious that Chris and Maria have worked hard to make Thunder Ridge Lodge TOP NOTCH! We were there to celebrate our 27th Anniversary and the note, bottle of wine and snacks that Chris and Maria left us was such a surprise! Location is convenient to Cleveland, Helen and local attractions. Dahlonega is about 40 minutes away, and is an easy drive. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and look forward to visiting the area and Thunder Ridge Lodge again soon!
Great place to pop in and out of downtown Helen and surrounding areas.
Loved the overall readiness of the cabin. Did not really have to go to the store for anything because the cabin had it all. Sunrises and sunsets are to die for. Very peaceful and very quiet for this who are looking to turn down the everyday noise and recharge the old life batteries. Loved loved the decor, the Smokey the bear and the Big foot pictures on the wall were hilarious. Chris is an awesome communicator and really takes pride in the cabin and giving the visitors piece of mind.
We stayed here for labor day weekend. This beautiful mountain cabin was beyond our expectations. Inside and out the attention to detail are obvious. The view of the mountian from the bench swing is a sight to behold. The fire pit and gazebo are perfect for outdoor activities. Inside this cabin is very nice and comfortable. This property offers a lot more than others and for a better value. The owner was also very nice and helpful. We couldn’t have asked for better. We will definitely stay here again!
We recently stayed at Thunder Ridge Lodge in Cleveland, GA, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! The cabin was impeccably clean and well-maintained, making it a comfortable and inviting place to stay. The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the breathtaking view of Yonah Mountain. Waking up to such a gorgeous view every morning was truly a treat. The location was perfect for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. Additionally, the owners, Chris and Maria, were incredibly friendly and helpful, making the stay even more enjoyable. There are also several nearby vineries that are worth visiting, adding to the overall experience. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a serene and picturesque retreat. We can't wait to return!Thank you, Chris and Maria!
Me and my husband have very time consuming jobs, and on different shifts none-the-less. Time together is important and we try to get away for a night or two every couple of months and This cabin was exactly what we needed! The outside was stunning, an adorable swing overlooking the mountain, and a fire pit stocked with everything needed for an easy start fire. We enjoyed and took in everything this cabin had to offer. Including the many board games inside to bring back childhood memories. We are already reminiscing on this trip, and looking to book the next. It was beyond, perfection in the Woods!
Spectacular view of Mt Yonah and all the comforts you’ll want.
Tucked away from the rest of the world sits your beautiful home away from home. You enter the cabin to a well equipped kitchen with all the room you need to stay in if you chose..
The quirky art makes you laugh when you pick out cameo appearances by Big Foot, E.T and a few others. They've got the mountain cabin decor going but these amusing adds, lighten the mood.
The porches give lots of space to unwind and read a book or just watch for deer.. we saw a few!
The swing was a favorite spot as it frames Mt Yonah for that Christmas card photo you always plan to take while on vacation but forget to do!
Back inside the two bedroom cabin gives space for everyone while the living room with nice sized tv allows for all to gather.. games in the master bedroom closet give options for you too.
Outside the hot tub is available or if you feel more active try the horse shoe pitch. A fire pit is ready to get your s’mores going if lounging watching the fire flies is more your speed.
We had a fantastic time and as yearly visitors to the area we feel we have found our new favorite location. We think you will love it too
While in the area be sure to drop by The Lavebdrr
The cabin and the grounds were top notch! All I was hoping for and then some. Super clean and great atmosphere! The view of Mt Yonah was stunning! The hosts were friendly and very helpful, gave me some great suggestions for my trip and were there for me for whatever I needed. I would definitely stay there again and I highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area!
