View looking north east from Clipstone colliery tip On the horizon can be seen the plumes of two of the huge Trent Valley power stations - West Burton and Cottam, built to use the coal from the Nottinghamshire pits.
Fungus on tree stump This fungus was growing in several places alongside the road in Sherwood Pines Forest Park. It is possibly honey fungus, which can do much damage to trees.
