"Lovely hotel, very friendly staff, we had a lovely breakfast good food and variety. Used the swimming facilities twice, only complaint was the jacuzzi was out of action. Also had a steam room, sauna and spa area."

"The property is great but I am concerned about the staff and service (worst I have experienced at a Fairmont property). We ate at the onsite restaurant (the Carriage House) and we were completely neglected. 25-min before anyone could be bothered to take a drink order after we were seated. Another 15-min before our food order was taken. A family that was seated 45-min after us received their dinner before we did. Placed a 2nd drink order after finishing our meals and after 30-min of waiting we just left the restaurant. Went to the front desk after taking a walk on the property and notified them that we had left, so that they could process the meal, and they said they will talk to the restaurant manager. Later we were told that the manager had offered a 50% discount for the poor experience. When we checked out, this discount was not noted and we had to re-explain the situation. Paid in full for the dinner (including a 10% service fee) and was told they would talk to the manager again and would provide a refund if applicable. More than 24-hours later, no refund or follow up from the property, despite emailing them to follow up."

"From the get go this was just a fantastic stay. Secure free parking, Welcoming arrival and shown to room. The rooms have a very luxurious feel and very spacious. Bed was very comfortable and no noise from other rooms heard. If in the area again, I will defo be staying here! Don't miss out on the food too! very good and arrived at the table nice and quick"

"After checking in we entered our room, which had a stale smell. As it was very warm we opened the window only to find no security chain so we had to close it when we went out. There must have been a shortage of toilet roll as we had 1 full roll and about a 1/4 of a 2nd one. Next week come to the bar for refreshment and food. Our food order was promptly taken but the wait for it was slow. As to drinks, again slow to ask if we wanted any. We decided to settle our bill and go to the bar for our own drinks, not much better. Upon returning to our room for the night we found the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable giving us very little sleep. When we checked out we were asked if everything was ok. I told them about the bed and odoursome room only to be told there was some work to be done and mattresses to be replaced."

"From the very beginning, before we even arrived at the hotel, it was clear the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel and grounds are immaculate and the countryside setting is stunning. The walks around the grounds are so peaceful. We had breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks while staying there and couldn't find fault with anything. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, we even got to have a look around 10 bedroom Balyna House which can be rented out with its own bar and butler and a cool looking Cellar bar too.It is beautiful, and looks like the perfect setting for a wedding. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and really appreciated the extra touches of chocolates in our room and a dessert sent down to us after lunch. The water station in the hallway not far from our bedroom was so handy to refill our bottle with fresh, cold water whenever we needed. We definitely plan to stay there again."
