Accommodating 6 guests, this property provides a private getaway with all the comforts of your own home! For those seeking a calming getaway, this secluded cabin is the perfect property. 3 minutes to Alto Vineyards!

    THE PROPERTY

    This beautifully crafted cabin with Pine Floors is a beauty. This cozy cabin is perfect For the wine trail adventure! Inside, the cabin features stylish decor, and all the amenities necessary for the ultimate getaway experience. Fully equipped kitchen for you cooking delight. With an open concept kitchen and living area, sit back and relax in front of the flat screen TV or gaze out the sliding Glass Windows into the private Forest and Creek.
    The early riser of the group will look forward to enjoying their morning coffee in the screened in porch or the outdoor deck overlooking cave creek and the lush forest.. Additionally, the screened porch provides a tranquil space to sit, read and dine while nestled into the forest valley. The cabin has also has a large stone fire pit sitting right next to the creek. If the group is looking for other outdoor activities, the property sits on the River to River trail Shawnee National Forest.There is also a trail that connects with Cedar Lake down the road.

    From Cabin on the Creek , you'll be in the perfect location to explore the area. If you're seeking water sports Little Grassy offers Kayak and Boat Rentals. Giant City is only 15 minutes away from Cabin on the Creek. In the Heart of the Shawnee National Forest, Giant City is known for some of the best hiking trails and interesting rocks formations. With hundreds of species of Trees, and rare flowers abound this park is a paradise. Horseback riding, that right! Giant City Stables! Check it out! Getting Hungry after a day of hiking and exploring? Visit Blue Boar BBQ for some delicious BBQ! This location is truly the best on the wine trail! 3 Minute Drive to ALTO VINEYARDS!

This stay was so peaceful & relaxing! Perfect for a couples getaway or for some family fun. The bonfire area and other outdoor spaces were perfect. Would definitely book again in the future!

Nice property and Cabin.Property is amazing and very nice Weather had flash flooding when we stayed, but was still nice see creek running like a small river very nice. Would definitely recommend for couples or even with kids.

Perfect spot

This was a great property for location! It was amazing all the wineries and hiking are just perfect from here. The owner is amazing to deal with and communicates amazingly. It was the perfect place for us.

Great little cabin

This was a great little cabin for our Anniversary getaway! We were close to everywhere we wanted to visit, and even places we didnt know we wanted to visit. The cabin was clean with great views of the woods. The host was very accommodating

gorgeous woodland made for a very calming stay. Water pressure was real low, but we knew that going in. Bed was comfy and basics were all in place. Convenient to all of the places we wanted to go.

Fun Family Getaway

We loved staying at the cabin on the creek! The creek itself provided tons of entertainment for our almost 3-year-old. Lots of hiking and outdoor entertainment nearby. The host was a fantastic communicator leading up to and on the trip dates. The outdoor spaces at the property are nice little escapes from the city! Great stay, would recommend!

Great Stay!

We had a great time at this little cabin. Just a few feet away from a portion of the River to River Trail. We hiked 2 of the days we were there, enjoyed the wineries with live music, and great atmosphere. Enjoyed a campfire every night along with the hot tub. We will be back!

Quiet retreat

The property was very clean and located in a wuiet surrounding. Beautiful back drop behind the cabin. Sleeping arrangements were comfortable. It was centrally located to a lake, trails, bourbon bar and wineries. The property manager was friendly and made great suggestions for the activities we were wanting to do.

BEAUTIFUL PLACE

My husband and I wanted a getaway just the 2 of us for our anniversary, and this was perfect! The only suggestion I would have is to include a booklet type thing with instructions on how to work things (hot tub, tv, lights outside, etc). I would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a private getaway!

Amazing cabin in middle of wine country

This cabin is located so close to all the wineries in the wine trail. We had easy access to Alto Pass, Star view, Owl Creek, and so many more! The hot tub was a great way to unwind at the end of the day. And the owner was very great about communicating and following up. Would 500% recommend this place to anyone looking to take in the Shawnee state parks or South Illinois wine trail.

Cousins getaway

This was our runaway from home weekend. The cabin was very comfortable. The hot tube was very welcome after a day of travel. I loved the creek and wish that the weather had been nicer to enjoy it more. Brian was very prompt to respond to any communication. Highly recommend.

Wine Trail Get Away

Good get away to visit the wine trail. Close to many wineries but far enough away to feel away from others. The cabin was basic, but nice. It was what we were looking for because we didn’t want to stay long. Water pressure was good (many reviews complained about water pressure, but it was fixed before our visit). There were actually two bathrooms with two standup showers.

Beautiful Area

I loved being away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The home is cozy but the water pressure for showers was almost non existent. It would be nice to have better internet for rainy days. But overall nice stay and beautiful home and outdoor space.

A very pretty area

This is a beautiful piece of property with a very basic cabin. The owner was attentive and checked in on us. Overall our stay was nice and comfortable. The bed was comfortable which is a big plus. We enjoyed our time here. The only complaint I would have is a lack of water pressure. The cabin could use a water pressure tank. That would have made a huge difference. All in all, a pretty nice VRBO property.

A New Experience

For our time spent there , it was perfect! The right size for a romantic getaway. Felt very private and intimate. Beautiful view of a creek and the woods surrounding! There were only two of us, but it was nice having two bathrooms and showers. Reception was still a struggle and dimmers on bedroom’s light as well as kitchen’s lights would be a welcome atmosphere. Would love to make it back again!!!

Great Location

House was nice. Location was perfect for the many hiking trails we visited. In the woods just off the road. No neighbors to be seen from the deck area. Host was the most responsive host we have ever had. Great stay. Kitchen was well stocked. Loved the wooden clue/monopoly game. Bed was comfortable. The house is on well water so i would suggest bringing bottled water. The fire pit area looked nice but we didnt use it this stay.
