We really loved the property. Especially the lake that was on the property that came with life jackets and water sports equipment. It really allowed us to enjoy the full extent of the property. Only gripe is I believe the property listed there were 3 full bathrooms and in reality there were two and a half bathrooms. We made it work but it would have been nice to know there was a half baths. Schedule shower time for big groups!

Great family getaway.

Cute and clean farm house. Great view and property. The lake was fantastic. We plan to rent again in warmer weather to utilize the lake more. The owner was great. Communication was great. Perfect family get away.

Weekend getaway

Great place and great weekend! Beautiful spot and lots of room for friends and family to join you. The kitchen is awesome and the massage chair was great. The kids loved the kayaks and we all loved the peace n quiet. 5⭐️!

We had a great time celebrating my mom's 80th birthday on the property. We were a larger group and there was plenty of space, bedding, towels and other amenities to accommodate our large group.

Love this place!

This is our second time staying at this farmhouse and all of our families love it there. There’s mini horses that our kids would feed daily, a fire pit with plenty of chairs, and a lily pad, kayaks and paddle boards to play on. Also, the owner is super accommodating and responsive. Highly recommend this rental!

Fun by the Wineries

Our group loved our stay at the Farmhouse! The property and scenery are so picturesque, and we loved spending time together around the large table in the kitchen. Brian (host) had great recommendations for the area, especially a bus to take us around to the local wineries for an afternoon. We had a blast utilizing all the paddle boards and kayaks provided at the pond, and after fun-filled days the beds were comfortable and clean! We would definitely stay again.

What a Delight

A lovely, open space that feels quite isolated but is close to roads and shops for any needs. The little lake charms with its turtles and kayaks. The home provides great views of the lake and the sunsets, with cozy bedrooms for all. The kitchen is well-stocked and spacious. Our little reading retreat felt cozy and cared for over the entire weekend. Would absolutely stay here again if in the area.

Great location and space

Plenty of room to spread out. Came down for a wine trail. Brian was easy to get ahold of. Only concern is the bathroom with the shower- the glass door/wall didn’t seem as secure as it should be and water still got out onto the floor. Would love to come with kids in the summer to utilize the pond!

Bachelorette party must!

Great place for a bachelorette party! Brian was so helpful & communicative throughout the entire process. The property is absolutely stunning with picture perfect sunrises & sunsets. Don't miss the chance to have coffee with the ponies and cows or paddle board at sunset with your girls. As a first time MOH, I couldn't have asked for a better experience and Brian's connections made the planning process a million times easier. Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful Property

I can’t tell you how many times we said “what a beautiful location” this weekend! It is truly stunning! We enjoyed use of the lake and the many kayaks, paddle boards and paddle boats they had. We also enjoyed feeding the miniature horses apples. The house is clean, comfortable and well stocked. Plenty of room! Close to the wine trail, Giant City and Carbondale. The host Brian was very friendly and checked to make sure everything was good upon checkin. All around great experience! We will be back!

Excellent Property!!

The Farmhouse was the best! Provided many onsite fun with opportunities to enjoy water sports, such as kayaking, paddle boats, rafts, and paddle boards. Also fishing if you would like. There are 3 lovely mini ponies that love to be spoiled on! And lots of wildlife to see. The house was clean with the perfect amount of space for our group! We loved enjoying a movie each night in the tv room. It was a joy and relaxing weekend at the farmhouse! We can’t wait to spend time here again!

Beautiful!

There is nothing negative to say about the home and property! It was so peaceful and beautiful. I took my children, their spouses and my grandchildren. Everyone loved the horses, and especially the lake. The water was clean, no hesitation about getting in and swimming. Between the paddle boat, kayaks, paddle boards, and lily pad, everyone had a blast! The firepit area was perfect after the sun went down. The house was very nice and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again!

Family get-away

We had a wonderful time at the Wine Country Farmhouse. We stayed with our two sons, spouses, and 2 grandchildren. Everything that you could need is provided. Great views of the lake. The farmhouse is spacious. There is room to gather inside and outside. No need to bring chairs for outside - seating at the beach, firepit and decks The lake was clear and clean! Enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boat, swimming, and fishing. Grandchildren loved going over to pet the horses. They are very friendly. Looking forward to another stay at the Farmhouse!

Landscaping needs a lot of work The outside of the house need’s power washed The beach was great The kitchen was excellent The description of house says 3 full baths but it’s actually 2.5 baths. Upstairs mattresses need replaced and there is no upstairs bathroom

Fabulous Farmhouse

Our extended family of 11 spent the weekend at the Farmhouse. The rooms are large especially the kitchen where we gathered for meals and games. Large patio door of the kitchen allow watching the dock and pond. Geese,,egrets, hawks, and deer were spotted. The Farmhouse was clean throughout. 3 large bedrooms upstairs had their own air conditioners, and everyone slept well. Two big bathrooms had showers with plenty of hot water. Every bed was comfortable. Plus the kitchen had top of the line appliances & every imaginable tool. Brian found us a bus and driver to escort us to the wineries. Our host made the weekend the best. Finally, we used the fire pit each evening while we star gazed. The firepit has plenty of seating and we made the most of it. We'd stay at the Farmhouse again for sure!

A true hidden gem

What an amazing property!!!! As soon as I booked the Wine Country House, Brian (host) contacted me to touch base and provide contact info. From the time we booked to the time we checked out, Brian was always available and quick to respond to any questions. He is the host with the most! :) This place was absolute perfection- my friends and I all agreed we would be staying there again. The house is beautiful and spacious, but for us, the best aspects were outside. There are so many seating areas - a patio just outside the kitchen door, a fire pit area, AND next to the private lake (which has available kayaks and stand up paddleboards), plenty of lounge chairs and a covered seating area. Near the house is a little barn with 3 very friendly mini horses we became best friends with. The Wine Country Farmhouse is so conveniently located to so many excellent hiking/trails- It's a quick drive to Giant City Park and Pomona Natural Bridge. The house feels so secluded and like you have so much privacy, but if, like my party, you forget charcoal or need cookies, there is store very close by. (As an outdoors person, I also really loved that we were there right when the irises started to bloom.) I can't wait until we're able to book the house again. If you're in the Southern Illinois area, you *have* to check out this place.

The property was beautiful and felt so quiet and secluded, which is exactly what we were looking for! Right on the wine trail, literally 4 minutes from Star View. Brian was so kind and made sure to stay in touch in case we needed anything, and the biggest bonus was the mini horses!

Great house for our big group!

We loved staying at this house. The host was a great communicator and helpful before we even arrived. The animals were perfect, there was tons of outdoor hanging out space (boats, chairs, fire pit, decks, etc.), and inside was exactly as advertised. Would absolutely recommend to anyone. Inside had great AC for the hot summer months and a huge kitchen table that the whole family could fit at.

Cousins weekend

Loved staying at the farmhouse! It was nice to have a safe place to visit and we were all together. The only issue was there were no bathroom upstairs and most of us was was over 50 , we needed a closer bathroom for those who self upstairs. Overall the stay was wonderful. Thank you for renting to us.
