Great hotel for anyone who wants to visit the city of Coburg, perfect for citytrippers! Only thing is that the parking lot is rather limited. If you happen to have the opportunity to travel by public transportation, I would advise that option. The train station is nearby and the hotel is on a 2-minute walk from the historical city centre.

The parking was full when we arrived so we had to park downtown 10 min from the hotel.

My favorite thing about this hotel was the little bridge that led across the Itz stream right into old Coburg. The walk from the train station sucks right now, since there is some serious construction going on all over Coburg. But that little bridge was everything! Great access to a nice town. The breakfast was good and plentiful, and our room was the typical Ibis basic but clean arrangement.

The room was great only parking was a big problem no space after 3 pm and we had to go to a garage in the city very inconvenient with a lot of baggage

My principle complaint is a small one: I missed the fact that there were no cups for drinking. For simple things like swallowing medication or having a drink of water, it was inconvenient. I had to remember to buy a little bottle of water so we'd have something to drink out of.

We had a very bad experience with the Hotel clerk on 9/2/24 @ about 2100-2130. We arrived back from a busy day and noticed one remaining parking spot at the hotel location, however the gate would not dispense a ticket. I immediately walked to the front desk and was told by a staff remember that she was holding the Parking spot for another guest. I then asked was this policy to hold parking spots or was the policy first come first service. The Hotel staff member became very rude and even mentioned to my wife that she could in fact ask us to leave the property. Keep in mind that our stay had been for approximately 9 days and we always adhered to the parking policy, if full then park down by the local parking garage. We normally visit the IBIS in Coburg during our yearly European vacation. Sad to say we will not be visiting this property again in the future.
