"Nestled in a cove of the city that exudes a welcoming acceptance for the business and vacationing traveler, the location is superb and super convenient. From check in to check out, we were only greeted with pleasantries that included a continental breakfast, approachable front desk personnel ready to assist, and a two-room living space that was totally accommodating to my four-person family."

"My recent stay at Hyatt Place Washington DC/US Capitol was a mixed experience. While there were a few positives, overall the property felt quite downgraded compared to other Hyatt Place locations I’ve recently stayed at, especially the Chicago Hyatt Place. The positives first — the room cleanliness was good, and the bedsheets and linens were fresh, clean, and comfortable. However, several aspects of the stay were disappointing. The rooms felt quite small and lacked comfort for an extended stay. The shower experience was poor due to inadequate water flow and drainage issues. The AC vents could not be properly controlled, making room temperature management difficult. There were also constant creeping/cracking sounds coming from one of the room panels, especially noticeable at night. Despite raising concerns, the response from the staff was delayed, and no alternate room was assigned, which was disappointing from a hospitality standpoint. Housekeeping service was also limited, with cleaning reportedly done only once every three days, which may not suit many travelers. Breakfast was below expectations — very average with a limited spread and much less variety compared to other Hyatt Place properties. Overall, while the hotel maintained decent cleanliness standards, the service responsiveness, room comfort, amenities, and overall guest experience did not meet the expectations typically associated with the Hyatt Place brand."

"Overall Hotel Nell is such a refreshing different type of hotel. It brings me back to another time when emphasis wasn’t on a corporate look or style. It’s not just that it’s reasonable and ranks highest on all the usual dimensions of cleanlinessThe atmosphere is relaxed, the staff—largely young people—are not only friendly but like what they’re doing. We stayed for two nights in a room with two twin beds. It’s strengths go way beyond the usual with excellent cleanliness, helpful"
