The neon pink filament like blooms of the Persian Silk Tree (Albizia julibrissin). The leaves of this tree are very similar to the leaves of the Sensitive Plant (Mimosa pudica). Unlike the Sensitive Plant, the leaves of the Persian Silk Tree are not thigmotropic and do not close upon touch. The tree is very attractive in bloom and has a tropical look for being winter hardy in many places in the Northern U.S. However, in many places the tree is invasive and is negatively allelopathic to neighboring plant life.

Room was nice and the bed was comfortable! My biggest upset was that there was construction happening in the room next to us. I was hoping for a morning sleeping in but that didn’t happen once the construction began. Would be nice if they didn’t book rooms close to one under repair.

This pink and white marbled petunia is actually an unintended mutation of what was intended to be a completely pink bloom. The OSU cultivar trials, located at Ohio State University's Chadwick Arboretum and Learning Gardens, are conducted each year in order to evaluate ornamental bedding and container plants. The objective of these trials is to observe the performance of new and recently introduced cultivated plant varieties under environmental conditions typical of central Ohio.
