"I booked a one-night stay at the Red Carpet Inn in Stamford for myself and my boyfriend, specifically choosing a non-smoking room due to my asthma. Unfortunately, when we entered the room, it reeked heavily of smoke, making it impossible for me to stay. In addition to the odor, the room did not appear clean—the dresser drawers were all left open, which made the space feel unprepared and poorly maintained. I immediately went back to the front desk to request a refund and explained that I would need to stay elsewhere due to the smoke. I was told to contact Expedia since I had booked through them. However, when an Expedia representative kindly called the hotel on my behalf to request the refund, the front desk refused—despite the room being misrepresented as non-smoking. Even the Expedia agent mentioned he tried to reason with them, but they were completely unwilling to work toward a fair resolution. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend staying here—especially if you rely on accurate room descriptions for health reasons."

"The hotel is lovely, clean, fresh and very comfortable. If I had to critique something it would be the wifi. Very slow and not very strong. Otherwise my stay was perfect. The front desk staff was very pleasant and the breakfast selection was better than expected "
