The Farmhouse was everything we could have hoped for. It’s beautiful, comfortable, quiet, and just has that homey feel that makes you want to come back.
This property met all of our needs for a great couple of days out of the city. Nice quiet location. Would definitely come back. Love the historic nature of the property and House.
This old farm house is at the end of a long drive-way to give you solitude. The beautiful bluffs of Vernon County surround you for wonderful views. I've been coming back here every year for like 4 years running because I know I'm going to get a peaceful stay here. I strongly recommend this place is you just want a lovely place to relax in.
This was a really neat stay. The old farmhouse was as described. It was fun to stay on the grounds with the other historical buildings and walk around to read the signs about them. Very peaceful and quiet, and we saw a couple deer running on the property too.
Stayed here leading up to my wedding at Norskedalen. It was such a fun experience to stay on a gorgeous property surrounded by historic buildings. The home itself was charming with lots of character, while I was surprised there wasn't a TV it was really pleasant to be "forced" spent more intentional time with the family that stayed with me. The home offered wifi which was helpful for my hair and makeup persons when they came out. Would absolutely stay here again!
This is a wonderful home with all the charm and character of a farm with comfort of a great little kitchen and lovely family room. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
I've been to the Farm House at the Thrune Center 3 times now and I'm not tired of it yet. I would gladly return in the future for another relaxing stay.
We enjoyed your lovely and historic home. The beds were comfortable and the piece of property was amazing. My kids said it got a little hot upstairs, but the fans and of course the AC helped! Pleasure doing business with you.
It reminded me of my grandma's house. Brought good thoughts of the olden days. A lot of historic buildings on property to check out. The Lady in charge was very nice and quick to help.
We booked this property for our mini vacation to the Driftless Region. While this property was fine for a place to sleep and was on a nice piece of quiet land, we did not have the best overall experience with our stay. We received one quick, generic check in message about 3hrs before our arrival. Questions we had were messaged back and were not returned at any point during the three nights we were there. This property is a very old farmhouse that was not adequately prepared for our arrival. It was clear that the building had not been opened up or aired out in a long while. The entire house smelled of moldy, wet basement. Cleaning supplies and processes in place were not picked up prior to our arrival. Advertised amenities like the coffee pot did not work. We spent an evening trying to clean the coffee pot but after seeing what came out of the machine during the cleaning cycles we chose to just not use it. There was an active hornet nest somewhere in the front patio so if we did try to open windows to not have to breath in the awful smell of the house, we had to chase the hornets out. There were numerous mouse traps set up in the house and in the main bedroom, so clearly there is some form of mouse problem there. We have stayed at numerous rental homes and have not had to ever write a negative review like this, but we felt as though people looking at staying here in the future should be very aware of what you are getting into.
The farmhouse was clean, warm, and dry, a perfect example of what a farmhouse should be. If you want something super fancy, with all the bells and whistles, this may not be the best spot. But if want honest, humble, and genuine lodging there’s no place I’d rather stay locally.
