"Not sure where the “5 star” resort claim is coming from given that it’s more of a 3 star- 1. Check in was horrendous (states 3 pm but rooms aren’t actually ready by then as stated by previous reviews) 2. Rooms are filthy and barely functional- my husband took his socks off when we got to the room the very first day and the bottom of his feet already turned black within only a few mins of being there; unfinished tile work in the bathroom, very poor craftsmanship, stains on sofa, drawers that you’ll have to fight to be able to pull out, tv has to be turned on and off a few times to work, our AC stopped working on our last night even though the patio door was closed- maintenance guy had to shake the patio door to get it to work as it had “a glitch”- like what?! 3. Service can be good or bad- some act like they hate being there, had a particularly unpleasant experience at the fruit shake bar twice- first time, I asked if i can have a pineapple in my shake (there is a pineapple I can clearly see bc it is right in front of me), lady working points at it and says “I can’t cut it right now I’m busy) second time, there were 3 ladies standing at the bar and as soon as I stated what I would like, two of them walked away and one ended up cussing them as she was the one left to make a shake; it takes forever to wait in line at restaurants but servers at restaurants were nice 4. Pool was ok, lazy river had no current, very few tubes that everyone was running to find one, can tell wa"

"Fantastic entertainment team and good food. Staff were mostly helpful, the hotel was clean, and there were always plenty of sun loungers available. The water slides are great and the buffet was excellent, especially at breakfast. No problem getting reservations at the other restaurants- steak house is great others are average. The beach is nice, although we found it even better if you walk a few minutes away from the hotel. Unfortunately, I can’t give 5 stars because of some of the day pass and weekend guests. Large groups would arrive and be extremely loud and disruptive, with shouting, screaming, twerking and excessive drunken behaviour around the pool areas. On one occasion, a guest was sick in the pool, resulting in its closure. On a separate occasion, another intoxicated guest had to be taken away from the pool area in a wheelchair. This was particularly noticeable at weekends and did affect the atmosphere. We missed the foam party because the pool had to be closed after someone was sick in it. Our flight was delayed by an hour, but the transfer provider would not adjust our return transfer time. This left us with the choice of arriving at the airport around five hours early or paying $70 for a taxi. Be careful with your wristband- I was initially charged $250 when mine was lost, although this was later waived after I complained. Overall, there is a lot to like about the hotel, but the weekend atmosphere and transfer issue prevented this from being a 5-star experience."

"Oh, the Azul! This resort is an absolute stunner, a true tropical paradise that offered us so many moments of pure joy. From the moment we stepped through the doors, the front desk staff made us feel incredibly welcome, their warm greetings and accommodating nature setting a fantastic tone for our stay. Our room? Immaculate! And the view from our balcony was simply breathtaking, a postcard-perfect panorama of the island's natural beauty. The vibrant energy of the bar staff near the entrance was infectious – always ready with a smile and a friendly chat. However, a slight dip in the otherwise stellar service occurred with the bar staff by the restaurant where breakfast was served. It felt a bit disheartening when they'd engross themselves in their own conversations, leaving us waiting a little longer than expected. On a brighter note, the security team patrolling the beach were absolute legends, super cool and always ensuring our peace of mind. And the breakfast servers? Genuinely friendly and attentive, adding a lovely start to our mornings. We were also promised a meeting with a resort representative to discuss our stay and receive a $100 credit, a perk we were looking forward to. Unfortunately, this meeting never materialized, and to our surprise, there was no follow-up or apology offered. "I just wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional experience I had during my recent stay at Excellence Oyster Bay. From the moment I arrived and was greeted with a glass of champagne, I felt welcomed into a world of top-tier luxury. Being told not to worry about my luggage because guest services would take care of everything set the tone for a truly relaxing getaway—my only responsibility was to unwind and enjoy the incredible hospitality. The level of service exceeded all my expectations. Chanice at the front desk made a wonderful impression, ensuring every detail was handled with care. Erick, one of the bartenders in the theatre, brought genuine warmth and professionalism to every interaction. In fact, every staff member I encountered was amazing, always ready to assist with a smile and making me feel genuinely valued as a guest. Thanks to everyone at Excellence Oyster Bay, my experience in Falmouth, Jamaica was nothing short of extraordinary.
