The location can’t be beat and the staff were helpful and friendly. We had great views from our room, which had plenty of closet and drawer space. The bed and pillows in our room 108 need to be replaced. Finally, as with most places in Northern Italy the hotel has no AC and the road noise was too much to keep the window open at night making the room stuffy and warm at night.

What a beautiful chalet - so warm and inviting, with faultless staff. Very charming. They even accommodated our two dogs so kindly. Would thoroughly recommend (and I’m fussy)!

I paid above market rate to get the spa at this place only to find a very meager gym and no sauna, the steam room wasn't even on when I went down to use it. Not a real Spa, and not woth the premium (probably 50€ MORE than comperable hotels.

Dear Mr. Patrick. Are you sure you have posted this review at the right place. First, you have reserved a large single room and you got an up-grade in double room comfort. Second, the SPA is free of charge for all our guests who reserve directly on our website and not through expedia or booking but you got the entrance for free. In our SPA the Sauna is close to the pool and it is working every day as well as for the steam bath close to the shower. The gym is not large but has professional machinery Technogym for the legs and arms. I'm sorry that despite the courtesy of the room upgrade and the access to the SPA for free, your judgment was so bad. Best regards

Love this hotel - we come from Hong Kong to stay!
This is a real gem of a place. Rooms are great as are the Spa, breakfast and the management. We've now stayed here summer and winter and never been disappointed - and we'll be back from Asia to stay again in summer 2020

The hotel was clean and the small private pool with our room was nice. It was warm but not hot. Good for a dip on a hot day. This hotel is not ideal if you need to be right in the town center. The walk is OK but not that picturesque.

Beautiful views of the valley; great spa experience in the morning when it’s quieter; breakfast and dinner were both good; friendly service. But the room is a little small and dated; very slow WiFi.

It is a beautiful area and this has a nice lobby, terrace and pool area. The breakfast buffet is nice. The rooms are just a little to small making it difficult to get luggage out of your way.

I’ve stayed in numerous 3 and 4* hotels in Courmayeur. This was a trip for pleasure and really happy with the stay. Garden room with views of Mont Blanc with private patio. Very recently refurbished to good standard. Went for the option of half board and not disappointed with the excellent dinner that was very good value. Service throughout was very good. Used the spa - had it to myself. Excellent steam room and descent pool and sauna. A 5 minute walk takes you to the start of the main pedestrian hub in Courmayeur and a couple of minutes drive from the Skyway A few snags - Requested a twin but arrived to a king - was sorted with turn down service a few hours later Wellness centre was being cleaned from 8pm - a bit early! Waited an age for hot drinks at breakfast. Lack of parking. Parked in random car park 100m from hotel. Rooms not particularly well sound insulated. Overall, one of the more comfortable hotels in Cour and the spa is a definite big plus. Recommend the restaurant if you want a night in! Dog friendly also

Wonderful hotel, memorable stay
We only had time to spend one night before continuing on a hiking trip, but we certainly wished we had more time. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating to our late-night arrival, the buffet breakfast was delicious and full of choice, and the pool/spa areas were so relaxing. The room was spotless and had everything we needed. Don't hesitate.

The Gran Baita Hotel and Wellness is a truly beautiful hotel. We had an amazing stay, love the coziness of the place and the fireplace in the main lobby. One minor feedback we weren't really thrilled about is that we had to check-out in the morning but we weren't leaving Courmayeur until later in the day as we had planned a ski day. When we came back to the hotel after skiing around 3pm to change for our 2 hour drive back to Milan and then 8 hour flight back to NYC, the front desk said that we weren't allowed to use the showers in the spa because they were only for guests (we were guests 4 hours ago..). This was really unpleasant for us after a sweaty day on the slopes and we think that they could have a been a little bit more accommodating for us to take a quick shower and be out of their way.

Dear Guest, First of all, we would like to thank you very much for taking the time to review our Hotel and for the compliments made to the staff and our atmosphere. We would like to point out that the reason why we have not been able to make you use the showers in the SPA is only due to the fact that when the Hotel is fully booked (and our Hotel is fully booked thorough the winter peak season) we do not allow guests to use the showers in the SPA after their check out for a sense of respect for all the guests in house. If during your stay you had seen a lot of people coming and going to take a shower in the SPA, your relax would not have been the same. In any case, starting from winter season 2018, the Hotel will have a new ski room with a very big internal ski rental, luggage deposit, showers and changing room, so that this issue will be solved and it will be possible for us to accommodate this request. We do hope we will be able to welcome you in our home again and very soon. Thanking you again and wishing you a nice day.

Relaxing, Comfortable and Beautiful
The hotel was great. Check in was easy and the staff was always helpful. My wife loved the way the sheets smelled me too. Room was clean and very comfortable and what a view. Pool and spa were clean and the staff always there with a towel and a robe. Breakfast was good with a large selection from sweets to bacon and eggs. The place is amazing everywhere you look mountains reach into the sky. You will not find a more beautiful place to escape the rat race.

Beautiful property and area. Only drawback is that we were looking for a place to stay in Chamonix and this came up. I neglected to really look closer when we found out it is on the Italian side of Mont Blanc with a 40 euro tunnel charge each way! Be aware!

Lovely relaxing hotel
Wonderful hotel, great staff who go out of their way to be friendly, helpful and very professional. Beautiful decor and comfortable. Spa is superb and well maintained and managed. shuttle service enat getting to the slopes was very easy.

Good but not memorable.
The standard rooms are tiny with insufficient space to accommodate your ski clothes etc. The food was passable but did not live up to expectations. Breakfast was rather chaotic self service with queues for hot drinks and an egg boiling machine which took 15 mins to boil an egg. The spa would have been a haven had the hotel staff not allowed screaming children to run in and out of the sauna and rest area.

The staff were all courteous, helpful and friendly, the pool and wellness area were beautiful. However there are two busy roads going past the hotel which were quite noisy when we were sunbathing in the pool area, and when we had our window open. Our room was sumptuous and comfy but was let down by the air con not working (also a problem in our friends room) and so we had to open the window as soon as the sun came up, which then let in the road noise. The other issue with the room was a damaged door lock, It was difficult to get it to latch shut and a bit of force would push it open.

Positiv: Schönes 4*-Hotel mit guter Verkehrsanbindung; bietet alles, was man in dieser Kategorie erwarten darf; mehrsprachiges Personal, Verständigung auf englisch kein Problem; der Wunsch nach einem Balkon im S-DZ wurde erfüllt; schöne Außenanlage und sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Was man wissen sollte: sehr eingeschränkte Parkmöglichkeiten, es empfiehlt sich ggf. vorab einen TG-Platz zu buchen; auf der Südseite der Anlage verläuft die SS26, sehr ruhig ist es daher tagsüber nicht, aber auch nicht sehr störend Was man verbessern sollte: es ist aus ökologischen Gründen nicht mehr zeitgemäß, täglich die Handtücher zu wechseln und die Gäste erwarten dies heutzutage auch nicht mehr Fazit: wir kommen gerne wieder, falls unser Ziel einmal wieder Courmayeur sein sollte

Un week-end dans les montages à l'italienne
Un week-end juste de l'autre côté du Mont-Blanc histoire de voir un autre versant et surtout s'immerger dans un autre pays avec sa langue et ses traditions. Nous n'avons vraiment pas été déçus car l'hôtel était vraiment très bien placé à 15 minutes à pied du centre ville dans un cadre et une ambiance vraiment dépaysante ! Un hôtel et des chambres tout en bois en mode chalet de montagne. Magnifique ! La piscine chauffée intérieur et extérieur est aussi très agréable. Le restaurant où nous avons pris nos petits déjeuners était très bien et le SPA avec les massages également parfaits. Si vous voulez être dépaysés à moins de 20 minutes de la France, foncez !

Bella struttura, curata nei dettagli e pulita. A parte qualche rarissima eccezione negativa, personale educato e competente. Buona la cucina e il servizio mezza pensione. Posizione positiva, a metà strada tra centro e impianti. Unico neo: la mancata comunicazione (sul sito o al momento della prenotazione) dell'inagibilità della sauna. Da un quattro stelle mi aspetto sempre comunicaziome tempestiva di qualsiasi disservizio.

camera piccolissima ed angusta , avendo anche un cane non ci si poteva muovere. Animali non ammessi nella sala colazione ma solo nel ristorante Gourmet . WI-FI molto debole in camera e molto incerto il collegamento. Personale molto gentile e disponibile

Buongiorno Signor Pier Vincenzo, grazie per aver soggiornato al Gran Baita. Mi spiace leggere il Suo giudizio sul suo recente soggiorno. Purtroppo la Sua scelta della camera è ricaduta su una SINGOLA SPAZIOSA e quindi è chiaro che non ci si può aspettare una camera abbastanza grande e confortevole per poter ospitare due persone ed un cane. Quando è possibile cerchiamo di offrire un up-grade gratuito in una tipologia di camera più grande ma in questo periodo l'Hotel è spesso al completo. Da quello che ricordo però abbiamo offerto l'accesso alla SPA gratuitamente che diversamente per tutti gli ospiti di expedia e booking è a pagamento. Per quanto riguarda le policy dei cani e ben visibile on-line, gli stessi sono ammessi nelle aree comuni ma non nel ristorante Gourmet a meno che non si mangi all'esterno. Possono invece entrare nella Brasserie La Sapinière il nostro secondo ristorante sempre che siano di piccola o media taglia. Per ultimo il capitolo WIFI. Purtroppo la Fibra non è ancora arrivata a Courmayeur e quindi dobbiamo accontentarci di una connessione ADSL Ne abbiamo 3 per un totale di 70 mb ma quando Courmayeur si riempie la banda si satura e anche se si hanno 200 mb non ci sono possibili soluzioni. In ogni caso entro i primi del 2020 dovremmo essere anche noi a Courmayeur fortunati possessori di una connessione ultra-veloce. Spero di averLa nuovamente ospite del Gran Baita. Chieda pure di me e mi ricorderò di Lei con una quotazione preferenziale. Buona estate
