About this property
Sleepy Lagoon Cottage - On 30 lush acres & just minutes from Downtown Covington!
Sleepy Lagoon is an incredibly picturesque, park-like property that offers 30 acres just minutes from shopping, dining, and outdoor activities in Downtown Covington. When you enter the gates of Sleepy Lagoon, driving up the long, azalea-lined driveway, past a barn, fenced paddock, and an expansive green space rife with oak, pine and magnolia trees, you immediately forget the busy streets you just left behind. Next, you pull up to a beautiful fountain in the center of the majestic koi pond that flows into the lagoon below from which the property gets its name. The lagoon is dotted with cypress trees and live oaks and winds throughout the property. Wooden bridges and lighted, elevated walkways along the water beckon guests to take a stroll around. At the end of the driveway sits The Cottage, welcoming you with its front porch swing and ceiling fans. Inside, you'll find a spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bath home with a bonus space that sleeps two additional guests, that was completely renovated in April 2020. The Cottage offers all the amenities of home, from all necessary cookware, serving ware and appliances in the kitchen to extra linens and towels for each bedroom. The den and all three bedrooms feature wall mounted Smart TVs with high speed internet connection. A brand new washer and drier set can be found in the laundry area just beyond the breakfast table. The Cottage has a carport and ample space for extra parking. There is a charcoal bbq grill (charcoal and lighter fluid provided), as well as a large Blackstone griddle for you to enjoy. If you're wanting to explore even more of the grounds, you'll want to stroll to the back of the property, where you'll find the cliffs overlooking the Bogue Falaya River. A walkway allows you to travel down to the water where you can enjoy the feel of the white sandy beaches under your feet and the relaxing sounds of the babbling water in your ears. If you love to fish, be sure to bring your poles and bait so you can fish in our stocked ponds (catch and release only, please!) Sleepy Lagoon is a place like no other. We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you here!

The property location was excellent and the house was very comfortable. AC was COLD which makes for a great night's sleep. Clean, accommodating, and dog friendly!! Highly recommended.
The place was cozy and relaxing in all ways. We especially thought the beds were super comfortable. Our most favorite part was being able to walk around the property to the little ponds and the beautiful, quiet creek. We’ll definitely stay here again!
This is such a beautiful property! The grounds and lakes and the fountains are gorgeous! We have not been this relaxed in years! Everything was wonderful!
Absolutely loved this property! Exactly as described. House was very clean and comfortable. Our boys truly enjoyed fishing in the ponds in the property which were very well stocked and maintained.
The purpose of our trip was to attend a wedding. The Sleepy Lagoon became the main event, rather than the wedding. We were close to the Global Wildlife Center, which our 3 year-old loved. We had a family nature day fishing and wading in the creek. This VRBO provided all the comforts of home. I highly recommend staying at the Sleepy Lagoon!
Retirement surprise party for a vice president and her family. All other hotels were booked. I reached out to Stacey and the rest is history! The property was amazing and way better in price than two hotel rooms. I have this host and property in my back pocket from now on.
Stacey was an amazing hostess. Everything we could have possibly needed for our stay was there. Between the makeup wipes, the throw blankets, and the toiletries, everything was at our disposal. Easy access not only to the host but to the property. Stacey provided prompt responses to my questions and the property was awesome to walk. Overall, a great stay with a great hostess.
We did a couples trip and I tell you everyone approved this 10 out of 10 stay. This place made our stay feel like home. Our 2nd day we had all our reservations cancel due to a unexpected storm and this cottage provided enough space to play games (that's already provided) we were able to cook and clean with out extra store runs. Everything mentioned in the description was just as it says. The host greeted us with detailed instructions that I read out loud to my party 30 minutes before arrival and they felt welcomed before the arrival. The level of hospitality is unmatched. The community was very welcoming as well. No complaints !
We arrived Sunday afternoon and left Friday morning. Check-in and check-out were simple, hassle free. The kitchen was well stocked. The grounds were amazing! Went for a few walks to the river as well as around the lagoon. We enjoyed a campfire one evening. The house itself was spacious and the beds were comfortable. There were plenty of places to get a bite to eat, local eateries as well as the usual chain places within a 15 minute drive. For a great cup of coffee or beans to grind in the coffee grinder I recommend Haven in Covington. I would also recommend Fontainebleau State Park which is about 25 minutes away. We drove to New Orleans to visit the WW II Museum and the French Quarter. There are plenty of other things to do in the area. I wish we had more time to enjoy the grounds though.Time to just hang out around the property.
We had a great experience with this property! The host communicated often and responded quickly to any questions we had. The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed taking our daily walks. Highly recommend!
The property is beautiful and has so much to explore. The house is in pristine condition and was spacious enough for our family and friends who came. The host was very welcoming with nice little touches that made us feel at home.
Booked this property for family to stay while attending son's wedding. Could not be happier Will definitely stay again. Stacey was an absolute pleasure to work with
We enjoyed our stay at Sleepy Lagoon. The grounds are beautiful. The house was clean, comfortable and well supplied with everything we needed. Stacey was quick to respond to our questions and gave us good recommendations for places to eat!
We had a wonderful stay. The cottage is very quiet and peaceful. The décor was beautiful and the beds were comfortable. Stacey was good host. We will most definitely stay in at Sleepy Lagoon again!
