Excellent room , well maintained hotel , very close to bahn

The room was clean and the hotel was easily accessible from the train station. The staff was very, very helpful with a potentially late train arrival and they made sure we could access our rooms through self check in. Paid for breakfast and it was nice. We were there during the heat wave so it was very hot. The air conditioning did not get the room cool below 22c which felt hot as American travelers. Probably would be ok under normal circumstances but in this instance, that was the only note that could have been improved.

I booked this hotel expecting basic amenities, especially a hot shower and a comfortable night’s sleep. Unfortunately, there was no hot water during my stay, making it impossible to shower. This completely defeated one of the main reasons I booked the hotel. I informed the front desk, but the issue was not resolved in a timely manner, and there was no compensation offered. A functioning hot water system is a basic expectation for any hotel, and not having it significantly impacted my stay.

Check in was easy, room was ready a little early.

Excellent location near the Hauptbahnhof. Garni, but two decent restaurants on the way there. Starbucks right there for those addicted. Excellent local transportation for those not daunted by the maps of tram routes. Trains for day-trips from Zürich, for example, down along the big lake, to mountains and vineyards.
