Lovely location, room was a little tired, but was suitable for our needs (we were travelling with our pet dog). Breakfast was included & was very tasty. Overall an enjoyable stay

Setting of this hotel was excellent but the hotel itself seemed run down. The staff were very friendly.

Beautiful location
A beautiful location, friendly staff. The room need some TLC; bathroom fan is rather loud, and wobbly toilet seat.

Great location, nice staff and good food at excellent price. Hotel starting to be a bit shabby and walls are thin so not as quiet as i think is now the norm

Old Rectory in the heart of Welsh Countryside
Fantastic old Rectory in a quiet country area ideal for walks along the nearby canal. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice cooked to order. Staff were helpful and friendly. Decor needs a bit of TLC but it is an old listed building.
Such a lovely inn right on Offa's. Welcoming hosts. Fabulous breakfast. Beautiful grounds. Great views. A favorite for sure! Enjoyed best dinner on our trip a short walk away.
A lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings, staff really helpful & polite . The room was very clean although could do with a lick of paint.
The food in the restaurant is very good & breakfast was delicious.
We will definitely be returning.
This is a lovely place, the food was excellent and the room very warm and cozy. We have a dog and the grounds are good for excising him.
The dog is allowed anywhere except the restaurant. Will definitely stay here again.
The staff at this hotel made us feel comfortable and like we were part of the neighboring community as soon as we walked in the door. We had arrived at the hotel very early and hung out in the pub area while they got our room ready. The staff are welcoming and the feel of the hotel itself is cozy. We would recommend a stay at this hotel.
The building is impressive and the food was good but in a poor state of repair and just dirty.

In an old rectory, this hotel’s location is beyond amazing. Nestled in a beautiful valley with stunning mountain views, you hardly remember the world you left. The room was a little worn but the room isn’t why you book here. There are beautiful walks to town, through fields and church yards, over a wide river and all with 360 degree natural beauty. The restaurant is pretty good too. Breakfast was included and was cooked to order

A very friendly and relaxing hotel. We have no complaints. The welcome and hospitality was very good, our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The food was amazing. The only thing that lets it down is that it’s obviously a very old building and requires constant maintenance, so the building was a little un cared for in places. But it won’t stop us from returning. It was very good and the views were amazing

Nice location, but that’s about it.
Fantastic location, but the hotel itself is very tired. Room, bed and bathroom generally in poor condition. It’s a shame as it has the potential to be an absolutely lovely place. Very nice staff and breakfast. We only stayed one night as we had it as a stopover, would not stay there again unless it was fully renovated.

Beautiful setting and building. Dinner was excellent and the breakfast was too. Check in and check out was seamless.
The room was adequate but hearing the conversations and television from the next room was intrusive. The bathroom door needed attention as the handle was about to fall off.
Room was comfortable and the food was perfect and would recommend. However bathroom was in need of renovation with cracked tiles and grout just coming out under foot. On checkout our details were taken to send the invoice over and I am still to receive this after a further phone call to ask for this.
Hotel has the potential to be great as thr hard part (food) is in place.

The condition of the property is average tending to poor. The staff are great and the food was also excellent.
The bed in our room had an old fashioned mattress and when my partner moved, so did I. The plumbing in the bathroom needed attention, noisy and the toilet took 20 mins to fill the cistern and sounded like a fire hose. Sink drainage also took ages probably because the plug was seized partially closed.

Lovely location and grand old building but in need of attention as is the room. Attention to detail neglected: curtain pole fell off when drawing curtains and loo roll not easy to reach. Service was slow and inattentive with some essential utensils not available: I.e no teaspoons at breakfast! However, full Welsh breakfast was excellent quality. Missed more fruit options. Also bed was very comfortable.
Convenient position for seeing the area.
Very cold floor in bathroom, no bath mat supplied, we had to use one of our towels. additionally towel radiator not working and leaking bottom left making floor wet.
Would have liked a net curtain at window of our ground floor room which overlooked the car park, had to keep curtains closed for privacy.
