"Noisy at night "

"The apt mentions it has a restaurant, but it closed during covid and hasn’t reopened. It does serve an excellent breakfast, but the restaurant isn’t open for lunch or dinner. I was there on an Easter Monday, and the majority of the restaurants in the area were closed for the holiday. I would not have stayed at the hotel if I had known the restaurant was closed. "

"The hotel is in a great location, and continues to have a good vibe and it also attracts nice crowd in the evenings, partially thanks to also being home to a fantastic Italian restaurant. However, this is my second stay at the hotel over the last 4 months and I've noticed that the rooms haven't been upgraded for a good number of years - simple things like damaged corners, chipped paint, loose fixtures etc. For this type of hotel category, better on-going maintenance could be expected. There also appears to be no or lack of acknowledging correspondence via the booking website that I used. I ended up having to contact the hotel directly (24 hours prior to my arrival) about an early check in query. Whilst this issue was positively resolved, I was surprised to hear that previous messages via the app had been received but somehow ignored. Again, this was also the second time I've encountered this problem. "

"Thank you so very much Novotel Hotel, socially the gentleman on the counter and the young man in the bar forgot their names, both from Afghanistan, very friendly , highly professional fully experienced and very well behaved. Jennifer is the lady who was refilling the refrigerator and I left her €20.00 on the counter. Hopefully she will receive her tips. Thank you all"

"This is a tidy little hotel with some architectural charm. The location is also great if you want convenient access to inter-city and local trains. It is literally across the street from the H’burg central station, so all the main U- and S-Bahn trains are within a two minute walk, or less if you’re not weighed down with bags or small children (I probably would not recommend it for those with small children). The proximity to the Hauptbohof station also meant a bit of hustle and bustle, but we did not find that a problem, and it came with some amenities (below). The desk staff were really friendly and accommodating, and we had no problems communicating with them in English (we don’t speak more than a few words of German, so we appreciated their friendly greetings in English). There is a major performing arts center (Shauspielhaus) a block away, so that meant that there were several good eateries within just a few steps of the front door (highly recommend Capri and Vesuvius, both Italian, and Schifferborse; and the breakfast at Mitte Hamburg about three blocks away is delightful—pro tip: get the fluffy pancakes!"

"Convenient for a short stay. 30 minutes walk to the center. U & S Bahn stations are 7-8 minutes walk. Staff are welcoming & understanding. We’re satisfied with what we get."
