Spacious Riverfront Retreat. Sunset views with private Dock, Sleeps 12.
We purchased this one of a kind home with the best views of the Homosassa River and look forward to sharing it with visitors. This home is a 4/3.5 with 4,570 sq ft of living space plus tons of porches and outdoor area. So much space to relax at one of the largest homes in all of Homosassa. The home is on the main river so no canal views and also has a dock for your boat and plenty of trailer parking. The home sits on the best site in Homosassa. With the property being on a private peninsula, there is almost 360 degrees of unobstructed views of the water both up and down the river. This home is the feature home in the "Homosassa Landing" village and is right in the middle of Old Homosassa and only a 2 minute drive to the Freezer, Monkey Island Riverside Resort, and the Shed at MacRae's. Back porches and two private upstairs porches make an incredible place to watch the boats go by until the amazing view of the sunset over the river.
New roof installed in December 2021 New tile Floors installed Nov. 2024 New outdoor furniture for unbelievable views of the river.
Private Dock that can fit up to two boats.
We do not have a boat ramp on site, please DO NOT use Camp N Water’s boat ramp. It is reserved for their guests only and they will report you if you are caught using it. Thank you for your cooperation.

Washer/dryer on site and basic linens such as bedding, bath towels and kitchen towels are provided. A basic stock of paper towels and toilet paper is also provided.
Bedroom 1/master: King bed w/private bathroom Bedroom 2/River view: King bed Bedroom 3/Garden view: Queen bed Bedroom 4/Bunk room: Two double bunk beds and two single bunk beds.
***Please note*** The home itself has been kept in excellent condition and offers the best view on the entire river. It does have original cabinetry and some other features which may seem quirky or dated. We hope you enjoy the Old Florida "homey" feel that these create. The home did have some settling in the foundation as it was being built, and although it's completely safe, there is a noticeable "lean" from one side of the house to the other. Most people have not found this to be an issue but a few guests have, so please understand. This also causes some of the sliding glass doors to be difficult to open or line up when closing. The previous owner lived there for over 20 years without any issues but we want to be up front about it.
The home also has an elevator however, it is pending an inspection and not operational at this time.

The property is just as described in the description in the listing. All the windows facing the river is an amazing view of the river. We saw dolphins and manatees from the dock. Beautiful sunsets on the dock. The hosts are very accommodating and answered any questions in a timely manner. We enjoyed our stay!
Ignore the bad reviews! This is a river house and it's huge. You have to expect that a river house isn't going to be ultra luxurious. The house is comfortable and if you've read the other reviews-- it slopes to one side but it isn't a big deal. Plenty of room, great location and priced right because of the "river house" environment. I'd stay there again!
Where do I begin to review this amazing property? Our second stay here and already have our 3rd booked. The house is magical. Spacious, comfortable and you absolutely cannot beat the views or location. Outside space is inviting with comfortable sturdy chairs. Dock is large and amazing. Best spot in Homosassa (and we’ve stayed in about 10 VRBOs there). Cannot say enough good things. Great beds, linens, plenty of space for parking. New smart TV in bunk room was such a welcome surprise. We will be back!!!
This home was so beautiful! I had to be nosey and see what kinds of sheets they used lol (and ordered my own! It’s right across from the tiki bar/grill… 2 minutes by water… about 18 for driving. The airboat rides were amazing!!! Very close. And if you want to fish, Wild West fishing charters will pick you up at the dock!!! 10/10. We will be back!!!
Amazing place!!
Before staying at this river house we read all the reviews. As a host myself, I know that not all the reviews are honest and that everybody is different. I was born and raised in citrus county and we were coming back because of family member had passed. We had a celebration of life at this river house. The home gave us plenty of space, views, and peace while we were there. These reviews mentioned a lean in the house, This did not bother us at all. Yes, it is there, but there is so much more that Homosassa offers… this location offers, the view offers, and the space offers. You’re not gonna stay at a better location! I would definitely 100% stay there again.
We enjoyed the amount of room this house had to offer and for the price. You won't find that much space at such a reasonable rate anywhere else. If you are looking for top of the line, all the extras and modern updates this may not be the place for you. We had issues with several of the doors, doorknobs, sink handles and lighting. Either half of the lights did not work or we were not using the right switches. It was never really an issue so I did not contact the owners. I am sure they would have addressed it. We were pleased with our overall stay. We booked a fishing trip and they picked us up on the doc so that was very nice. We would stay here again.
The location of this property is absolutely amazing. The dock and outdoor area were fantastic. Unfortunately, that's the end of the positives. While the slope of the house was drastic, that was the least of the concerns. The house is badly in need of updates, as the furnishing and appliances are severely outdated. More importantly, there were holes/cracks in the drywall, and much of the baseboard was coming off. Also, with a heavy rainstorm there was essentially a river running through the kitchen, and water was also leaking from the ceiling. The floor is incredibly slippery, and we almost fell a few times. Additionally, there wasn't much effort put into soap, shampoo or towels in the bathrooms. Considering the amount you pay for this house I would expect much more. We overlooked a lot from other reviews considering the location, but won't be staying here again. It's a shame because the house has so much potential.

Disappointing Experience during Christmas Rental
I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding the house we rented from you for our Christmas holiday. While there were a few positive aspects such as the breathtaking river view and ample space to accommodate our party of nine, the overall condition of the property fell far below expectations.
Firstly, upon arrival, we were taken aback by the state of both the oven and refrigerator, which were unacceptably dirty. It was evident that proper cleaning and maintenance had been neglected for an extended period.
Additionally, the condition of the floor was highly unsatisfactory. We encountered numerous stains, and due to excessive humidity, some of the floor tiles had become displaced. These issues significantly detracted from our comfort and safety throughout our time at the property.
Furthermore, we were informed, albeit vaguely, about the house having an inclination. However, the actual extent of the slope exceeded our expectations, as it impacted our ability to navigate and fully enjoy the space as intended.
Considering these substantial issues, it is my strong belief that VRBO should not allow the rental of properties in such a condition until necessary repairs and improvements have been completed.
While the impressive river view and spacious accommodation were the only redeeming qualities of the house, they by no means compensated for the overall disappointing experience we encountered.
This was our 3rd year staying in this home and we had another great stay! It is wonderful for large groups and children. The bunk room is great for kids. The yard is perfect for hanging out and the views are incredible. The dock is great. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could want. We had one small issue during our stay and the host was extremely responsive and remedied the issue right away. We’ve stayed at a lot of homes in Homosassa and this is by far our fave! Will stay again!!
We stayed here with 3 families and had a great time. Large rooms and fully stocked kitchen. If you want to grill bring charcoal. Location couldn’t be better and enough parking for 3 boats on the water plus trailers in the yard.
Everything was wonderful! Plenty of room, clean, gorgeous views!!! The kayaks were an added bonus- we didn’t have to bring ours. Ginger is easily accessible if we had a question. Hope to stay again.
We had an incredible stay. House was spacious with large dock and loved that we had trailer parking and huge driveway. In addition to the fridge in the kitchen, there is also a small fridge in the bar area which was nice for drinks. Nice Adirondack chairs outside which are perfect for watching the sunset!! Kids thoroughly enjoyed the bunk room!!! Have stayed at multiple places in Homosassa over the years and you just can’t beat this house or this view. Already booked for next year!!!
This home is absolutely beautiful. Location is perfect. The dock was usable by multiple boats.. Lots of parking space for many many couples and/or a large family. Definitely perfect for a celebration, wedding, or just relaxing day on the water. Loved to be able to just walk out and get to the river with ease. Close to all Homosassa attractions including our favorite the Florida Cracker Monkey Bar! Can not wait to stay again.
This is a great house to bring your family and friends. Yes the house leans but not a big deal and if you look at description on Vrbo it tells you about it!! Stop dinging this house for that!! Great location, wonderful home to get together with family and friends. Plenty of room. Had a great time!! Thank you so much to the owners and management for helping our group have a great time.
Terrific location, view of the river and sunsets. House is very spacious and had plenty of room for our 2 families. Paddle boards and kayaks too. Dock easily handled 2 boats. Very interesting lodge feeling with Wi-Fi and tv if you choose to slow down and enjoy it. Drawbacks were sliding glass doors didn’t fit, slide or lock very well and we had significant water intrusion during thunderstorms. We know the property manager is working on that. With that corrected we would stay again.
We had such an amazing time during our 2021 scalloping trip. This home was beautiful & spacious. Super clean with the best views. Management responded to all of our queries in a timely fashion and were very accommodating to our requests. There are 3 rooms upstairs (1 master upstairs) and 1 master bedroom downstairs with its own entrance & a couch inside it. On the 1st floor when you walk near the kitchen you can feel the floor incline/decline so it takes a little bit to get used to, but other than that we enjoyed our stay & would definitely recommend “The Copper Top” to future groups that need a large place to stay. There were 10 of us and we still had plenty of room.
Thanks!

Slip Sliding Away
This was our least favorite house that we've rented in Homosassa. We were intrigued by the location, look of the house and the dock however the house was such a let down. First, the lean. They mention a slight lean but,,, WOW. The house slopes all over the place and made things feel really awkward. I felt like I was going to fall out of bed because of the slope. We put a water bottle on the floor and it instantly started rolling away. The lean cannot be understated. Other issues:
1) No door in the master bedroom's bathroom. If you don't mind using the toilet with whoever you're sharing the bedroom with I guess this is no big deal.
2) There were limited towels (1 per person), pillows (1 per person), toilet paper (1 roll per bathroom), small soap (lasted 3 showers), etc etc etc. No shampoo, etc. If you need it, bring it.
3) There were no blinds in the main area and only a few in the bedrooms, very cheaply done.
Overall, find another place to stay. If you're 18 and you live in a frat house then maybe this is the place for you.

Great Location, Structure Disappointing
Location of the home was great. Amenities - kayaks and paddle boards great. The house structure unfortunately was a let down. The foundation inside was not level. Dropping a round object or peanut M&M from the living room would roll toward the kitchen - very noticeable as you walk through the house. Upstairs the same. The sliding doors all need proper maintenance as they were very hard to open and close and secure. In addition, they were not cleaned and clear as I would expect for the price you pay for such a home rental. Some of the faucets did not stream well (sprayed). The towels, though adequate were worn and of less quality than all the other VRBO places we've stayed at. Clearly this house needs much better care than it has been given. The check in process was seamless and great via email instructions. However, I missed the deadline for final payment and sent a couple notices to the property manager but never heard back so no dialogue ever happened. I did make final payment after calling the VRBO main number and they guided me well. I have never needed to give a less than par rating but this unfortunately is one.
