Cua Duong Hotel Guide - Hotels with Spa in Cua Duong, Phu Quoc

"The room was large and the view and private pool was very good. The bed wasn't very comfortable and the linens and towels were very basic. The food at breakfast and dinner was OK and reasonably priced. There were insufficient loungers by the sandy beach, others were available but it was rocky and you couldn't easily swim in the sea. Whilst there were plenty of restaurants, supermarkets and spas in the nearby village, it was a challenge to get any grab drivers to come to the hotel and you could easily wait 30mins and usually this was only because someone had been dropped off. The walk to the village was about 1.2km, but it is a little up and down and when the temperature is about 37c it isn't great. The resort has a number of golf carts which they could have used to have a regular shuttle service for guests or even charge for the service, but they restrict your use of these vehicles to your day of arrival & departure only and within the hotel area. If I return to Phu Quoc I will choose a more convenient location."

"There are two things we particularly like about this resort. First, there are two swimming pools, which give guests good options for relaxing. We especially enjoyed the villa section, with its small tree-lined paths where we took a walk every day. The breakfast offers a good variety, and the seating area provides plenty of comfortable options. We dined at the seafood restaurant three times and really enjoyed it. The staff are very friendly and helpful throughout the resort. If we come back next time, we will probably book a bigger room. One thing that could be improved is the Wi-Fi, as it was quite slow in our room and in the dining area."

"Zero service, bad food, tired rooms. Looks like hotel is catering to mass tourism package tours from Russia and China and makes no effort to provide any service or train personnel. English is almost non existent, except front desk. Staff untrained, unmotivated and try avoid contacts with guests. Ordering wine at dinner requires significant effort. Several calls to pick up laundry, and a few more to get it back. Limited alacarte menu. The buffet dinner was pretty bad both times we went there. On a positive side - great swimming pool and spa / gym facilities, but that’s it. Did I mention that during 7 days we were able to get beach lounger only once as most are occupied after 9am? Making people sign every bill twice is just another example of poor beaurocratic policies - mind you, they take your photo on check in for breakfast / dinner buffet, but for everything else you must sign twice and they often insist on closing the bill right away - the management clearly do not trust personnel to keep track of people eating / drinking to have single check in the end of the meal."

"The staff, specially Art from guest relations who ensured my stay was as comfortable as possible, making it memorable and stress free, informing me of all that was going on, changing and booking my day needs and desires. Small issues with the room but promptly fixed. Although the beds are spacious and somewhat comfortable, personally I’d rather have a mattress with memory foam topper, as opposed to a cotton/polyester one as this provides little support. But no option for that, a small improvement there maybe required for people who have memory foam mattresses at home and were on a long stay like myself. Facilities are well looked after and clean, beach is lovely specially if you’re on the end of it, free from all the other people on the beach. Privacy is important on all my stays so I didn’t feel like this was an issue. Breakfast buffet was very good and catered for all cultures! Overall a very pleasant 8 days, a small improvement on the bed would take it to the next level for me, but would return and recommend!"

"This is a real gem of a resort, so much so we changed our flights and opted to stay an extra night! You are completely immersed in nature here and the accommodations blend seamlessly into the surrounds. We had 2 different accommodation types, the first 4 nights in one of the Superior Garden View Rammed Earth Bungalows and the last in one of the Superior Sea View Veranda Rooms. Both sets of accommodations were amazing - particularly the outdoor bathrooms - and had the same in room amenities, but the bungalow was more private with it's own veranda, outdoor table & chairs and sun loungers. The outdoor bathroom area was also much larger. We really appreciated the conservation efforts of providing glass bottles for drinking water which you could take to be refilled. Also provided were beach bags and beach towels to be used during your stay. The only big negative in both rooms is the lack of shelving to put anything on and you essentially have to live out of your suitcase. The service from ALL THE STAFF here was second to none!! The manager also made a point greeting all guests during their stay which was appreciated. The breakfast was out of this world - so many continental options and a good selection of cooked breakfasts both western and local - and was so filling it kept us going until dinner. You will not be disappointed staying here!"
