Dating back to 1713, Key House has been refurbished sensitively as befits its category B listed status. Originally called the Palace Inn, the marriage lintel above the front door bears the initials TM and KK - possibly those of the builder and his wife. It is also possible that the cottage was built from the stone from the palace and both the living room and kitchen/diner feature beamed ceilings made from wood from the ancient Forest of Falkland.
