Top Curia Hotel Reviews

Hotel Afonso V

Hotel Afonso V

8/10 Good
"Hotel is beautiful and really nice location, free parking outside and short walk to town. Rooms are spacious and bathroom is big. Room was cleaned everyday and the hotel is in excellent condition. Breakfast was varied and lots of choice, i think it was 8€ pp, very fair. A few issues though... you can smoke outside in the main area but people left the doors open so smoke smell came into the main hotel which wasn't nice especially because im pregnant. Maybe put up signs to tell guests to close the door behind them? Also they charge quite a lot for gym access, usually a hotel gym is free use for guests, i thought that was a bit stingy. And finally, we were woken up at 1am from the hotel reception to ask if we were smoking in our room, obviously not but the alarm had set off. They disrupted us again and said they needed to reset the alarm. We never got an apology for this or explanation the next say and it severely disrupted my sleep - again I'm pregnant so this was really tough."

Quinta Das Lagrimas

Quinta Das Lagrimas

8/10 Good
"Beautiful hotel and very attentive staff. Room was very clean and good amenities. Breakfast was plentiful and well done - can order custom omelets as part of the buffet. The dinner restaurant was posh with fancy cuisine that could have been tastier. Would go back but would go out for dinner instead. The hotel was ver convenient and in walking distance to the University of Coimbra and other historical attractions."

Bussaco Palace Hotel

Bussaco Palace Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"We were privileged to stay in this palace. When driving up to the building you get a feeling for the grandure, but on entering the reception it's jaw droppingly impressive. The staff were very helpful and happy to share their knowledge of the history of the building. The breakfast was excellent. The woodland grounds are beautiful, we spent a day exploring with a picnic (you have to be fit, it's very steep in places) The room was clean and functional but not at all luxurious. Come to this property for the amazing architecture and beauty of the forest, not for the room."

Hotel Astoria

Hotel Astoria

10/10 Excellent
"Where do we start. This was a fabulous hotel. Everything we expected and hoped for. Sonia looked after us from the moment we arrived and we could not have wished for a better host. If you want a modern hotel with square rooms and satellite TV, this is not the place for you. Keeping the style of its initial build 100 years ago makes this place very special from the opulence of the residents lounge, the ship like dining room and the rooms which are old but well cared for. We were fortunate to have a room facing the river with large balcony doors and air conditioning. The breakfast was exceptional. We dropped one star on the amenities only because it would have been nice to have a bar. To be fair there is an honesty bar but its not the same. Deserves all 5 stars overall and we re already looking at dates to return."

Curia Palace Hotel & Spa

"Staff and breakfast, excellent, however no A/C or working safety box in a room and jacuzzi is not working. I want to highlight the Belle Epoque environment of the place."
