Warm and relaxing stay with a very comfortable bed. Perfect location away from noise yet close enough to visit very historic places. I’ll stay again when time allows and for a longer duration.
Quiet, clean room and beautiful property. Easy drive to all things in the Black Hills. We stayed 5 nights and felt very much at home. At breakfast don’t expect the usual pancakes, bacon and eggs (but she will cook what you request). Owner is an excellent breakfast chef, serving many of her grandmothers old recipes that are on the unusual side but delicious. Oh, and Maddie her assistant is great!
Dakota Dream is an absolute wonderful place to stay. It is convienetly located close to Custer. The host, is amazing. She goes above and beyond to ensure you have a wonderful stay. The family atmosphere is priceless. The rooms are extremely clean and the bed is so comfy. I highly recommend staying here. You will not regret it.
We had a cozy room in a beautiful wooded ranch setting that felt like home. The bonus was the wonderful animal residents in this large property, including a sweetheart show bull, two wily goats, and a fluff of a cat. Downtown Custer, minutes away, wound up giving us some of the best meals of our South Dakota trip. And the whole region is gorgeous with much to see. Highly recommend.
First time staying at a Bed and Breakfast-what a delightful surprise! Enjoyed getting acquainted with the host, her daughter and the animals …Gunner the German shepherd and 3 week calf that thinks she is dog!! It was super clean and the decor was perfect! Breakfast was delicious! We will definitely want to come back!
You have got to experience this wonderful bed & breakfast! The whole experience was just what we were looking for. The location was perfect for all the exploring we had planned to do.. The afternoon we checked in we unloaded and went to dinner a few blocks away and headed to Mount Rushmore for the illumination program. It was spectacular. The next day we explored Custer State Park and Wind Cave National Park and even Hot Springs. The next day Deadwood and Sturgis, the next day Spearfish and drove out to Devil’s Tower. All of these were easily accessible from Dakota Dream! Mackenzie served breakfast at 8:00am and after a quick visit with her getting recommendations we were off for the day. At night you can sit by the fire pit and stargaze. One of the greatest trips we’ve taken and Dakota Dream was a highlight. Close enough to everything but had a country feel. Next time we will bring the whole family and use her cabins and awesome glamping A frames.
We had an amazing time here and getting to enjoy the town. The property was beautiful. We enjoy walking and seeing the goats. We would definitely stay here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cozy Custer cottage. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated and so clean. MacKenzie was so friendly and available to our needs. She also prepared a lovely breakfast for us. The cottage was conveniently located to downtown. We highly recommend this place for your stay in Custer!
