Perfect hotel for a solo traveller. Clean, functional and well located for local exploring of Dar Es Salaam. Must big up Jakob , a member of staff there who made sure everything was ok for my stay. Staff are polite and helpful, even when using my bad kiswahili! Will definately stay here again when I come to Dar.
Second time to stay at this hotel, staff are friendly, but need new pillows ours were flat. This is our choice of hotel when we stay in dar es salaam. Good facilities but not eaten in the restaurant.

This is our second stay having stayed here in Dec 2018. The rooms are nice and spacious and the staff very helpful. We would like in paticular to thank Joshua and Irene (front of house) and Aisha and Nicolas (in the restaurant).
Great stay! We have stayed at this hotel many times since 2016 and have always been happy with our stay!
The staff is so helpful and desirous to satisfy the guests.
Thank you staff!!!
Well located near lots of food and shopping options. Rooms are comfy and clean, but look a bit dated. Internet could be a bit faster too. For the price though it's an excellent choice. Staff was very friendly.

Beware of malfunctioning elevator
Hotel has just elevator which was not working. Everything else in g to be hotel was good
I was a regular customer of this hotel from 2015-2019 when it was under Best Western. I always stayed here because the price was great, rooms were good and spacious with a sitting area and very comfortable beds. The location may not be on the the beach, but it is on the Peninsula equidistant from all the places I needed to go. It is also easy walking distance from good restaurants and a small grocery.
This was my first stay since the pandemic, and it seems to be under new management and no longer franchised. However, I think the hotel has made some modest improvements. The lobby and restaurant have been nicely reconfigured. They are keeping the corridor doors closed which is keeping the common areas cooler. Looks like they revived the long dormant fitness room. Sitting furniture in the rooms have been replaced- same style, just new. During my stay, handymen seemed to be busy with lighting maintainence and repairs. Cleanliness and staff were good.
As long as the price stays down, it is still my favorite place for short business trips.
The staff at Peninsula are warm and friendly. You will enjoy the food prepared very well and generously. If dont like small cramped hotel rooms Peninsula is perfect, the rooms are spacious and with great amenities.
I will say that overall I would go back. I did not do breakfast, I'm not a breakfast person and hate waking up early. I also did not eat at the restaurant as there are so many restaurants nearby that I did not have time to eat at the hotel, I did on my last night order a vanilla milkshake but was made aware there was no more vanilla ice cream. Speaking of things nearby this location was perfect. My friend recommended that I stay in that area. The rooms are big and nice. The tv did not work I found this out on my last night as I got in early on Sunday and wanted to lay around. On my 1st day walking into the room there was what appeared to be a bloodstain on the comforter, but this was quickly changed, there was also a leak from the fridge but after the floor was mopped it did not leak, I assume the ice in the fridge melted due to the room not being occupied. The staff was so nice and anything I asked for I got. If I had to complain about anything I would say the couches in the room were dated and needed a deep clean but were still useable. Overall I would definitely stay again!
Having tile floors is definitely the best in a hot and humid climate. The hotel is clean, the staff are all very helpful, and the location is convenient to good area restaurants/cafés and shopping.
