2/10
First, two positives: The HVAC worked very well and it was a short walk to the small/narrow beach area.
Many negatives: Dunes East needs a lot of maintenance work! From the rotting front steps with rusty screws sticking up (a safety issue) to the extremely uncomfortable sofa in living area and the falling apart sofa in the upstairs sitting area, this place is not what we expected for the $3,000+ paid for 5 nights. There were multiple smaller issues such as lights not working properly in 2nd bathroom, toilet paper holder broken off wall in Master bathroom, torn/peeling wallpaper, broken blinds, poorly supplied kitchen (no baking/casserole dish, not enough silverware, large glasses or coffee mugs for 6), roaches (live and dead), worn out linens and torn comforter on king bed, very worn, stained carpeting, broken outside shower, etc.
Dunes East is listed for 8; however, there are only sleeping spaces for 6. And the sofas, which at one time appear to have been sleep sofas, could not be used for sleeping now.
Also, I received quite a bit of misinformation from the Vacasa staff as to exactly what was or was not provided in the unit. That made planning the stay difficult and caused us to bring items that we really did not need to bring.
In our family of 8 who stayed there, the 6 adults agreed that Dunes East was below par for a vacation rental and that we would never stay In Dunes East again.
