The Neighborhood
Have a taste of Dawsonville/Gainesville, GA , where life is simple, but rich in history, hospitality and southern kindness for the visitor. We are in close proximity to Helen, GA and the Georgia Outlets. Neighboring Oakwood and Flowery Branch are a short distance away. All offer multiple restaurants and lots of Mom and Pop shops. Our favorites in Gainesville are: Lazy Bear Barbecue, Sweet Magnolia cafe, Loretta's country cooking oh! and yes! the colored egg a unique cute, small cafe with delicious breakfast and breads, sandwiches, desserts, salads. Also if you plan to rent our boat there are lots of lakeside restaurants for your enjoyment.
We want to make your stay at Admiral's Mountain Lake Chalet a pleasant one by providing all necessary information to enhance your living at the lake. There is also a pontoon boat available for rental - This is very convenient since to rent a boat from a Marina in the area you have to pick it up and return it on time, and you are not given enough instructions or assistance on the water. If you rent our boat, we provide you with maps, instructions, and a GPS on board. The boat is delivered to you and when you are done, we just pick up the key. Call me if interested, and I will provide information to rent.
Getting Around
The home is close to the major shopping hubs of the city. Will provide you with a file with all information needed to get around the city, find gems and fun places as if you lived there.
Other Things to Note
We use natural cleaning product, no harsh chemicals. Our bed linens are 100% cotton, and so are our duvet covers. We put no inserts in our duvet covers so that we can easily wash them every time guests depart. Our beds are fresh, clean, and all mattresses are protected by covers that get sanitized and sprayed with natural products before the next guest arrives. Pillows are also sanitized with natural everyday products. All in all, we take pride in ensuring that the home is welcoming and impeccably clean.
My crew and I will be at your disposal at anytime during your stay.

We spent four nights here over Christmas and couldn’t have asked for a better place. The cabin was extremely clean, well-equipped, and felt like home the moment we arrived. The lake views were peaceful and perfect for a holiday getaway. Highly recommend.
We had an excellent time and enjoyed this property! This is a fantastic property with plenty of space for family and friends. We will be back next year!
Perfect week for the 12 of us...the house was immaculately cleaned prior to our arrival. Check in with ease and all communication with the owner was met with a quick response. I highly recommend this property.
Excellent distance to wedding venue. Enough space to accommodate all of my family. Pool table was a hit with the teenagers. Most helpful was continuous contact with host. Would definitely stay again!
The house was amazing! Tons of space and levels and the view is spectacular. The sunrises were breathtaking and the area was quiet and peaceful. The house was large enough for us to spread out and all have comfortable places to gather and sleep. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, cookware and appliances. There was nothing we needed that was not provided! We would definitely stay here again!
This was a threat fit for our family. We enjoyed the house as well as the lake views. The stairs was a challenge but we survived 😊we learned how out of shape we were. Definitely recommend!
We loved the house, it was really beautiful! Excellent location. Everything was wonderful. The size was perfect as we had a large group. Kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and utensils. Plenty of linens and a nice washer and dryer. We had 10 women and never ran out of hot water for the showers. The view is beautiful and watching the sunrise on the lake was huge bonus. Would love to be there when the weather is a little warmer.
I stayed here 6 years ago for a bachelorette, and the house was honestly bigger and better than I remember. Everyone had plenty of space. Plenty of fridges. We had perfect weather, so we used the water toys every day. I didn’t remember the stairs to the dock (that were a great source of exercise). Everything was great. We also rented from his lake toy inventory and no regrets.
The family enjoyed our stay but we did have issues that I should have considered beforehand. The house is 5 levels and sits up on the side of a mountain. To get from the main level to the wonderful footing dock is 117 steps. So it is not for people who have mobility issues or for families with small children. The kitchen is very well stocked so you will not have any issues cooking whatever you want. There was an issue of the BBQ grill outside deck main level. Cooking on it PV frate huge flames because the top did not fully close so we burnt our meal one night and didn’t use it again. The main levek deck was our family’s favorite. The living room on the main level was huge and quite comfortable for all. The top master bedroom has a serious air conditioning issue where it would cut off after 2 hours. Handyman came with NO TOOLS and didn’t fix it. Many of the light fixtures were burned out. Limiting a guest to a small amount of garbage in a large house was really far fetch. We had to be creative in our waste products. The location is relatively close to Dawsonville where nothing you need will be found. Dahlonega is a short trip as well as Helen. We had a hard time finding a real beach where the little ones could get in. One feels like you are deep in the mountains at the top of the tall trees. Next family vacation I will be more diligent about steps and how far it is to the water.it just wasn’t the right house for us but for adults and teens , it would be great.
We had a fabulous stay at Ray’s home during a weekend away for a wedding in Georgia wine country. The house was the perfect retreat, clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up for guests. With decks a plenty, we had our choice of spots to enjoy morning coffee while overlooking the Lake Lanier slew. The home’s layout offered both cozy gathering spaces and plenty of room to spread out, which worked wonderfully for our group. Ray was a gracious and responsive host, providing clear instructions and thoughtful touches that made check-in seamless and the stay stress-free. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot to celebrate the weekend, and we would happily return for another getaway.
We had a great time on the lake. The property is very nice.

Wonderful place to make memories with family.
My family had such a wonderful time at this house. There was something to do for everyone. We are sad too leave but look forward to returning. Thanks Ray for such a wonderful place.
Overall, it was a good place for us to stay. The inside was clean and we had what we needed. I have a couple of suggestions. The front entrance does not give off a welcoming appearance, it was dirty with cobwebs and leaves, and I would suggest taking down the fake plants, they detracted from the house. The back deck and furniture was also dirty, I swept it and washed down the furniture before the rest of the guests arrived. Also, the house had a strong musty smell, especially the lower levels, maybe from being empty. An airing out would have been good. It was otherwise a very nice place to stay and we enjoyed our visit, Thank You, Susan
We enjoyed all about this property! Beautiful location, very clean and plenty of room. The only thing we wished there were more of were showers, but overall we enjoyed this gorgeous home with amazing views! Be ready for a workout with all the stairs! The owner was very accessible and accommodating with our checkin and checkout.

Awesome!
We had a terrific time at this house on the lake! Our kids are adults now, so we rent a house and invite the three of them to come with significant others and grandkids. It s a crew of 11 right now-8 adults and 3 kids. This 4 level home allowed everyone to have private space while also giving us large enough spaces to gather together for meals and group activities. Tons of
TVs, pool/ping pong table, karaoke machine, two fridges, 4 balconies, outdoor shower, boat dock with kayaks and life preservers....on and on. We have rented houses several times over the years and this one was, by far, the most well equipped. Towels in each bedroom, bars of soap & extra TP in each bath, hand soap at every sink, a super well-stocked kitchen, plenty of beach towels, a cooler, trash bags, cleaning supplies, dish & laundry detergent--it was a dream! We also rented a beautiful pontoon boat from Ray which arrived at our dock the night prior followed by a walk through when the key was delivered the next morning. To be honest, this was the best experience we've had in regards to anticipating and delivering exceptional guest service. Thanks for everything Ray, we will most certainly seek out one of your properties again!

Five Days on Lake Lanier
Determining a Summer of 2020 location was difficult in light of the pandemic - at the time of our trip, the covid #s in GA were quite high. However, this property is extraordinarily private - yet only 10-12 minutes to shopping for essentials and more. We wanted exactly that as 2 of the 10 of us are in our 70's and not healthy, necessitating little contact with anyone outside the family. Lakefront views and general "peacefulness" were wonderful; the dock area & deep water offers much fun - we did not rent the owner's pontoon and should have but were able to get an almost new boat through Paradise Rentals - an amazing rental marina about 30 minutes away by car. However, anyone considering this property should consider carefully that there are approximately 85 steps down to the dock - some sections in good condition; others not so much or quite steep - once a day down and back is enough! The house interior is very spacious, light, open with good separation for guests. Because there are 2 bedrooms on the main level, it would have been nice to have had either a larger hall bath or each of those rooms to have had a basic bath of its own. The BIG DISAPPOINTMENT: one member of our party turned down his bed linen first night to see the sheets covered in human hair....not just a few but a disgusting amt; linens had to be washed/dryed before use!! The property is well "stocked" with pretty much anything one would need for a lakeside vacation. The owner offers assistance if needed and is prompt to respond.

Renter Beware!!!
About a 35 min.boat ride from Port Royale marina. Long steep driveway that is very scary to drive down. Long steep stairway to deck area, would not recommend to anyone over the age of 55 or anyone with leg or heart issues as you will pass out on the trek up (probably 150 steps..some crooked and very steep). The house continually had a smell of a dead animal, which we told owner about and his solution was to pour vinegar in the drain...did not help in the least. The beds were like sleeping on concrete slab and the bottom level had a smell of mildew which at least drowned out the dead animal smell. We rented a boat from the owner (middle eastern) and upon bringing it back he notified us of a clamp and bolt that had broken off the bimini top. No big deal..or so we thought ($5) part..which had already been replaced on the other side. The dock is narrow and when you park it, the wake of other boat jostles the boat against the side of dock which catches the bimini top. He told us it would be around $100 to repair, which we thought was rediculous but with 4 families splitting we sucked it up. Then he tells us he's going to file an insurance claim, which then held our $500 deposit, which to this date 14 days later i still haven't received back. Then a day after we left when I inquired about the deposit, he told me there was damage to deck from fireworks being shot off. The damage was the size of a quarter and he has kept that $500 deposit to this date as well. It's obvious he's a shady character that has 5 or 6 rental properties that he rents and the. probably enhances the rental by keeping deposits. I will be filing a report with BBB and will file a small claims suit against him. Please beware of this man, there are plenty of other Lake Lanier properties available.
