"We stayed at The Guest Lodge as we were watching our daughter row at a regatta at Lake Lanier so the location was perfect. However, it took 6 different key cards to get into our room. The staff were extremely helpful with this matter and had maintenance look at it. The problem still persisted but after several attempts we could access our room. The room itself was clean, though felt a little tired. We used the fridge, however by the morning everything was frozen, even after adjusting the thermostat! Breakfast was behind the reception desk so we couldn’t help ourself which was fine, but I would say not ideal, but a minor point. There is a pool to use which looked clean and well maintained though we didn’t use it. It is an easy 10 minute walk into Gainesville with a selection of restaurants which again, perfect. In general a convenient place to stay with very helpful and polite staff. It was perfect for our needs and with regards to our room, probably a one off and problems that can easily be fixed!"

"I was out on the first floor next to the lobby. I heard someone above me walking. It sounded like stomping. Then in the middle of the night, there was a disturbance in the lobby. It was yelling and screaming. I had Zero sleep. The bathroom is outdated. There were chips and cracks on the floor panels and on the wall in the shower. It was uncomfortable. I wouldn’t come back here."

"The staff, particularly L'Oreal and Takayla were friendly and helpful. The room, however, was disappointing. The shower was stained. The refrigerator could only be turned on for 2 hours, then off for 8. The TV required magical powers to turn on (on/off with one remote, hold power for 10 seconds with the other and then use it for channels...), and the beds were uncomfortable. Breakfast was very limited (we've had a lot of hotel breakfasts, this was one of the worst) and the pool was closed. It was disappointing overall."

"My husband and I decided to take a break from our normal routine and enjoy a weekend staycation in Alpharetta, and once again, Hotel Avalon exceeded our expectations. This was our second time staying here, and both experiences have been exceptional. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with elegant décor, spotless rooms, and impeccable attention to detail throughout the property. Everything is clean, well-maintained, and creates a luxurious yet welcoming atmosphere. What truly sets Hotel Avalon apart is the outstanding customer service. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely committed to ensuring guests have a wonderful experience. Their hospitality made us feel valued and appreciated from the moment we arrived. The location is also unbeatable, with easy access to shopping, dining, and entertainment, making it the perfect destination for a relaxing getaway without leaving town. It’s rare to find a hotel where everything consistently exceeds expectations, but Hotel Avalon has done exactly that for us—twice. We have absolutely nothing negative to say and look forward to returning again in the future. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a first-class stay in Alpharetta! ❤️ A perfect staycation destination! ❤️"
