Location was perfect. Easy to get to Deadwood or walk around Lead. Breakfast was supplied every morning. Fresh bagels, yogurt, fruit, muffins, etc. Very nice to start the day without having to eat out. Staff was very friendly.
We've stayed at the Town Hall a couple of times and will definitely stay here again. The rooms are all so interesting and well maintained. We love the fact that someone cared enough about the history of this building to repurpose it into something that everyone can enjoy.
Sue was so helpful with the check-in and entry codes. She makes this even more special with her attitude and friendliness.
The owner was accessible and very friendly. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The bathroom vanity is quite small and feels dated. The breakfast was very simple, but for the price it would have been nice to offer a bit more. Overall a good stay.
The hotel was in a good location and easy to get around, One drawback was that the air conditioners hadn't been installed for the summer. The host was very friendly and helpful.
The building is beautifully restored, attractive and comfortable. Bob and the breakfast lady were welcoming and friendly. We will definitely start there again.
Pros: easy check-in process, nicely renovated 1912 building, very high ceilings, nice antiques in the rooms and common area, convenient walking distance to shops and restaurants (the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center is close by and definitely worth a visit!).
Con: our room was the Judge’s Chamber on the second floor and it faced Main Street. The street was maybe 25’ from our window. Main Street is one lane each direction with parking on each side. The speed limit is maybe 25 mph. We were there on a Friday and Saturday and there was significant traffic noise from work trucks, groups of side-by-sides heading out on tours, Harley Davidson groups rumbling past, etc. It died down around 6:00 pm or so, but it was fairly constant through the day. Yes, we were gone much of the day doing our own sightseeing, but we were in the room enough to definitely notice it. Next time we’d ask for a room that was as far as possible from Main Street.
A cool little hotel. Comfortable and clean room, decent little breakfast with a few options even in the off season. Was there for 4 nights and it was a great, quiet spot.
Lovely place clean friendly staff but for a bed and breakfast really thought there would be a better breakfast more than oatmeal toast muffins yogurt coffee and juice
