"A beautiful hotel in beautiful surroundings. Although we toured during the day, we enjoyed our evenings and breakfasts. A good spot to base for some explorations of the west side of Donegal."

"This house was a great base for our family trip to Donegal. The large travel cot & high chair came in very handy. It was cosy and comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with utensils etc. and there was plenty of room for us all to eat and sit together. The location was excellent, just a short walk to Killahoey beach or into Dunfanaghy. We all agreed it was a winner. Only complaint was it seemed like a few small repairs are needed - one of the windows and one of the showers."
"A great find, we stayed here for two nights. It looks quite quirky with lots of character, and interesting features in the site. We stayed in the B&B and the included continental breakfast was great. Our bed was very comfortable. There's a lounge for B&B guests which we made use of for a while each evening. We were made to feel very welcome."
Luxury Donegal Beach Cottage at Dooey Beach, Dungloe
10/10 Excellent
"The cottage was perfect, in a gorgeous area of wild Donegal. Easy walk to a couple of small beaches. Nice shop and pub a few minutes car ride away. The house was cozy and clean, with everything we needed. Anne had let us know that there was a sudden problem with the central heat, and the work needed to be done to fix it would have had the plumber there during our stay, and she didn’t want us bothered. The house was warm enough, and we made a fire in the evenings in the wood stove. Anne actually refunded us a discount for the inconvenience. Not necessary (it was mild temps), but a generous gesture from a good host. Would return in a heartbeat if in the area"
REALT NA FARRAIGE, family friendly in Derrybeg, County Donegal
8/10 Good
"Bay view. We stayed at this house at the end of August 2025. The pictures online are accurate and the house is both large and well situated but slightly dated. Note that there is also a smaller rental property at the back of an agricultural shed at the back of the property. This is owned and managed by the proprietor but is not signposted so may lead to confusion. We had one European renter actually walk into our house during our stay asking for directions and then aggressively implying that they were also staying in our rented house. It gave my wife quite the fright and the doors stayed locked thereafter.Apart from that, what you will gain are fantastic views and lovely local trails beside the sea. The house is situated right in front of a small beach and boat pier. When we were there, a sauna and hot tub were available on the pier. Each day, lots of people came down to swim at the little harbour and at weekends, quite a few people were camping along the road, although this didn’t cause any issues. In the local town, Derrybeg, you can find 2 supermarkets , Sean Og’s pub and restaurant along with several coffee shops, cafes and take out options. Lovely location for a relaxing break but just be careful if others are staying in the small apartment. I would suggest that direction signs for this apartment could be added to avoid confusion."
"Delightful reception staff in this iconic hotel which oozes history of celebrations from past eras. A lovely regal presence as soon as you enter with vibrant red sitting room around a fireplace. Our room was large with tasteful velvet drapes showcasing a delightful water view. Such a lovely stay - Thank you Arnolds"
