Friendly service. The receptionist / bar keeper was welcoming and went out of his way to show us our room and the breakfast room. He also recommended local restuarants to try. We wanted to try Grappa when we returned after our meal and he explained the different types and recommended one based on taste in wine. On departure, the owner was on reception and explained the Ferrari theme in the bar and breakfast room. I would definitely use this hotel again. Location is ideal - about 10 minutes from the railway station and a quiet location about 3 minutes from the ferry terminal and harbour.

The location was perfect and within walking distance of the center. The breakfast buffet was very filling with many options. The only thing is the air conditioning wasn’t cold and therefore had to sleep with no blankets, also the beds are very very firm.

My friends & I loved this hotel! It was clean & comfortable & in a great location; & the staff was excellent. Max & his colleagues were very helpful, & Max was kind, helpful, & patient & went above & beyond the call of duty in helping us.

Lovely hotel
I returned to Hotel City after over 2 0years. Still wonderful with the same family running it. Its a lovely hotel in a beautiful place, I would recommend it to anyone

Great loaction for Lake Garda
The hotel is in a great location for Desenzano with a 1 minute walk to the waterfront. It has free parking and a good breakfast including hot food. The hotel staff are all very helpful although some of the rooms need a little modernisation but all clean and very quite.

Dear Sirs, thank you for your kind review! Every year the Hotel is undergoing maintenance and where the budget allows it to renovations. The last renovations took place in 2017/2018 in the hall, in the breakfast room and in some Superior rooms. We are planning to renovate the standard rooms soon.

Hotel in Desenzano
Part of the hotel has been recently renovated and the pictures reflect these rooms. The rest of the rooms are quite dated. Breakfast is good and front desk staff are very helpful. Great location!

Excellent stay in great location.
Hotel is in a brilliant location , less than 5 minute walk to the lake front and all cafes, bars and shops. Good parking for car too. Rooms have everything you need including kettle for tea and coffee, fridge, free wifi, full size bath. All staff helpful and pleasant and breakfast good too. We would definitely stay here again.

Good hotel short walk from ferry terminal.
On arrival the member of staff on the desk was very helpful with excellent English and suggested ways to make the best use of our stay. Our room was modern and compact but had almost all we needed. A few more coat hangers and a couple of teaspoons would have improved things but overall we had a comfortable stay. Staff were happy to provide extra milk for coffee in our room too. Continental breakfast was good with ample range of tasty treats and there were plenty of places to find dinner a short walk away. Great value for the price we paid.

Nice hotel, generally
Good facilities for the price, nice & close to the centre of town - about a 5 minutes walk. Friendly & helpful reception staff - but watch out for the lady who does the breakfast shift, she was rude & short with us on a couple occasions & didn't seem to like the guests generally. Overall though a nice hotel & a lovely stay for 10 days.

Desenzano weekend break.
Excellent budget hotel with amazing service. It is a stones throw from the lake and all the shops and restaurants. Breakfast was adequate for the price.

Super friendly hotel close to town
Although a little dated in the rooms and halls you very quickly forget about all that as it's friendly, comfortable and in a great location. Rooms are smallish but nice. Decent TV. Good shower and bathroom and good enough aircon.. Staff so friendly and helpful, reception very smart, breakfast and breakfast room lovely and a 2 min walk to the main lakefront area of the town. Great value and a truly great hotel.. Thank you.

Nice hotel in good location

Very modern and clean and quiet located close to the shopping and nightlife area and not far from the train station. The only negative might be that there was not a table big enough to spread out all my computer stuff. But, not everyone does computer stuff. They have an excellent morning buffet spread.

This hotel has an art deco feel and is quite nice. We enjoyed how close it was to the center city. The small bar was cozy and the staff very warm. Nice breakfast buffet. We would definitely go back again. Prior Lake, MN

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in September 2013. The location is very good - about a two minute walk to the main square. We had a car so the free parking was also a bonus. Our room was on the second floor and looked like it had just been newly decorated. It was quite a small room but enough space for our two large suitcases. The only slight criticism was that the walls are quite thin and we could here a baby crying one night - not enough to stop us sleeping though. Breakfast was included and was buffet style with a good selection.

Good hotel for couples or families
A lovely family run hotel. Great location, just a couple of minutes walk to the lake front, but far enough away for a quite stay. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, who speak good english. Free use of the Hotel computer. Breakfast includes, cereals, breads, cheese, meats, preserves, eggs, yogurts, fruit and cakes.

We were delighted and surprised by the level of service from the hotel staff. For example, one night it was pouring with rain, too heavy to even venture out. The manager on duty organized for a meal to be delivered to the hotel, opened the breakfast room and set up a table for us, so we wouldn't have to eat in our room. The staff also offered very helpful travel advice to us. The room was quite spacious and very comfortable but the wardrobe/hanging space was very limited. The breakfast selection was good and replenished regularly and the breakfast room was very interesting with a collection of Ferrari memorabilia in it.

Hotel super pulito ed organizzato, altissimo livello. Colazione da hotel 4 stelle, pulizia da 5 stelle. servizio di reception ed accoglienza di altissimo livello, ho trovato una cortesia ed una cordialità che non si riscontrano facilmente. davvero super consigliato.

Gut gelegenes und ausgestattetes 3*** Hotel. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber und sogar mit zwei TVs ausgestattet. Das Bad ist geräumig mit großer Dusche. Das Frühstücksbuffet war ganz okay. Etwas mehr Brotauswahl wäre noch toll gewesen. Das Personal war stets freundlich und wirkte auf Zack.
