"Our flight was canceled early that morning, so driving was our only option. Because of that, we had to request a later check-in time. The front desk staff was incredibly kind and helpful when we called. About three hours later, I called again just to make sure our late check-in had been noted, and they kindly reassured me that everything was arranged and that we could simply pick up our room key when we arrived. The journey from New York was not easy. It took much longer than we expected, and by the time we arrived, we were exhausted and anxious to check in. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with such a warm smile. She welcomed us so kindly, said we must have had a long drive, and even offered us a welcome drink. That thoughtful gesture meant so much to us after such a difficult trip. During our stay, she also took the time to ask how we were doing, and her genuine kindness made us feel truly cared for. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to spell her name—it sounded something like "Via" (or "Bia"). I hope the hotel knows who she is because she deserves to be recognized. Please let her know how grateful we are for her kindness and hospitality. What could have been a very stressful experience became a wonderful memory because of her. Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome. We will always remember your kindness."

"Hotel is conveniently located close to I80 & I35. The staff was busy during check in but very attentive and friendly. Our room was quiet (with the exception of a lot of kids close by screaming) and clean. The pool area is deteriorating and needs maintenance desperately. Rotting wood, mismatched paint, knob missing to turn the jets on the hot tub. We did not have breakfast before heading home but the breakfast area was busy and looked as though there was a wide selection of choices available. I would stay again if traveling through for a night. A longer term stay, I would prefer a more updated pool area. The price for a Friday evening stay was under $150 so I can’t really complain. This was much better priced than most places within the city."

"Our first time to Des Moines. This hotel is in a very convenient location to lots of things. it is also safe to walk in that neighborhood at all hours. You can park your car for the entire weekend and never have to retrieve it, there is valet or self parking. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Our bathroom sink had a leak and maintenance was there within 10 minutes to fix it. They were respectful and had the problem fixed in a just a few minutes. The gym is very nice, quiet because there are no tvs and ample exercise machines, work out mats, free weights, weight machines. There are two restaurants, one more casual that is open for breakfast lunch and dinner that serves excellent coffee to go and pastries, we had breakfast one morning and the food was excellent as well (omelet, avocado toast). We had drinks in the Proudfoot and Bird which is the fancier restaurant and their food menu looked really nice too. Again, walking distance to the Pappajohns sculpture garden, the Events and Expo center, and Principal Park where the Iows Cubs play. Will definitely stay here again"

"This property is being kept up just like owner other properties expectations are high. Greeted when walked in an explained dates reserved. Explained breakfast times, fitness room hours with pool. Was asked about room needs for housekeeping. Everyone was pleasant. This weekend was busy for staff but they did the job with smiles."
