The COVID-19 outbreak has triggered substantial changes to how we travel. If you’re flying to Guadeloupe, the following tips will help you navigate these new rules and challenges:
- Find out if any travel restrictions apply to your destination and origin before locking in your flight. Also check if there are any special conditions you’ll need to follow on arrival, such as undergoing health assessments.
- You must wear a face mask at the airport, even at screening checkpoints. Be prepared to lower your mask for ID purposes when asked.
- Rather than handing a TSA agent your boarding pass, place it directly on the scanner yourself. When that’s done, hold it up for inspection.
- You can now take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on bag. This will need to be taken out for X-ray scanning.
- To minimize handling during screening, place items such as your keys, wallet, phone and belt into your carry-on instead of into the bins.
- Separate any food you’re carrying for X-ray screening. Putting it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA agent to handle and inspect your belongings.
