"It all started with when we arrived and the hotel staff said we had no reservation. We showed them the printout of our reservation and the would not honor. The hotel is far from what's in the picture. It's vert dilapidated and unkempt. It smells really bad. To be honest I was planning to just check-in drop my bags and head out in search of another place. The staff also, could not speak English. My drive from the airport was my saving grace who was there with us and interpreting to them what...

"This is a beautiful property with unique, rustic design situated in the middle of the village, definitely off the beaten path! The suite we stayed in on the 4th floor had a beautiful view of the ocean and surrounding greenery. The property was well maintained and the staff was amazingly accommodating. Top Mjini Magharibi Region Hotel Reviews

Tembo House Hotel

Tembo House Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"If you want to be close to history, locals in the marketplace, a wide variety of activities, a great beach with character, and old world amazing charm... then this is it. Not your typical westernized tropical beach which is far away (1-2 hrs drive) and found way up north. There is nothing up there historically because there was no way to create a harbor for international multicultural trade there. Tembo has 2 infinity pools, 1 courtyard pool, and a great ocean front beach with beautiful views of all types of boats going by. Staff were superb and will remember you by sight, if not by name, when you pay attention to them. Walkabouts in Stonetown are easy, safe, and all around you. Management and staff are proud to be here, just as my group of 7 friends were. Great food, beautiful rooms and historical decor. Kevin from Boston area."
