"We had a short trip to Ella and booked Hotel Onrock for one night. The hotel is at the top of a steep hill and was a bit tricky to find but once we found it, I could not fault anything about the hotel. It was very clean and well maintained. The staff were all very friendly and made sure we were comfortable. The room was extremely spacious and the view from our balcony was breathtaking. The highlight for me was the restaurant. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and both meals were very tasty and had a variety of cuisines on offer. All the kitchen staff were very caring and went to a lot of effort to make sure we enjoyed our meals. "

"What a place!! We stayed as a family of 4 (2 children 10/12) in an Oceanfront view room. Large double bed and 2 day beds for the kids! Clean and well appointed with a daily freshen up! We had the best time. So relaxing! A much calmer/quieter stretch of coastline (away from the busyness of Hiriketiya/ Weligama etc. Nice infinity pool to laze about in and plenty of sun loungers/cabanas for sunning, reading, drinking. Ocean, beach and waves were amazing, however, there are some serious rips/currents in the water so you may only be able to paddle around. No water sports. You can however do plenty of day trips (fishing), Udawalawa (to see the Elephants), to other beaches where you can surf/snorkel, cooking classes and Galle (old fort town - with hundreds of shops, cafe’s and restaurants. There is a good breakfast included in the cost of your room and a nice menu for lunch and evening meals. Plus there is a lovely family run restaurant across the street serving the best homemade currys and fish (caught by the family), plus a few others in walking distance. Staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough to help! We will be back! "

"If you are looking for a hotel nearby the national park, look no further as this place is perfect You will be sunbathing watching crocodiles in the lake(it’s safe, don’t worry!!) admiring the sunset with the buffaloes and keep hoping an elephant will pop in. The rooms are spectacular,spacious and very very clean. The buffet (both breakfast and dinner) is yummy and with a variety I haven’t seen before. But the highlight of this hotel is the staff. We had the best people looking after us and this was the best thing!"

"This was our second time staying at 98 Acres. The Resort and its facilities are wonderful but the staff at 98 Acres are absolutely amazing. They are always cheerful, welcoming, helpful and full of knowledge and pride both in their work and to guests. Thanks heaps. We hope to visit 98 Acres again! "

"Outstanding new hidden gem of a hotel in kataragama. Entire staff from the pool cleaner to the resident manager focused on the customer’s experience. Beautiful campus with large pool and magnificent sites on all sides. "

"We absolutely loved our stay here. From dining under the stars by candlelight in the national park to waking up in the heart of the bush in our gorgeous accommodation- it was magical. Breakfast in the treetops was an unforgettable experience, and the entire setting felt like something out of a dream. The staff were attentive to our every need, and a special mention goes to Robbie, who was simply amazing throughout our stay. This place is an absolute must when visiting Yala. We can’t wait to return!"

"Outstanding hotel! Loved everything about it. We were visiting for 1 night to do the safari (which was also fab) but wished we stayed another night just to chillax!! Was nicely surprised that their dining prices were no more expensive (in fact cheaper in some cases) than other equivalent properties in Sri Lanka given the remoteness & no other options! Food & staff were great. Lovely pool. Highly recommend."
